A year from now what will make you happier, having saved some money last year or driving the Jeep you really wanted?

I’m not suggesting they’re bad. Just saying Duratracs or better yet a dedicated snow tire will perform better since he seems to want the best he can get for snowy conditions.Depends on which tire it comes with. The Goodyear ATs on mine work pretty good in the snow. I'm not so confidant looking at the bridgestones, but they might do okay.
I hear you! I grew up in lower Vancouver and we had the same problem. It snows a few days a year, sometimes a few times a year, and that’s it. So the budget just doesn’t really allow for snow maintenance (three big flakes fall and everyone freaks out. LOL). No one is ready, and it’s just a big icy slushy mess. I HATED snow until I moved north. Here we can get 1 foot dumps at a time, and it never warms up enough to melt so it all adds up. But it’s cold (and almost always sunny) and the snow is light fluffy powder. That makes a BIG difference to the skiffs of that 0 degree wet stuff I used to get when I was growing up.Also our DOT never adequately prepares for the winter.![]()
Up until a few weeks ago I wouldn't have believed you based on your location. But then I saw this video from Montreal and It just made me realize that no matter where you live, winter weather just sucks for driving, lol. I also get a kick out of the snowplow truck still spreading salt as it slides to its doom...I hear you! I grew up in lower Vancouver and we had the same problem. hahaha Well that's certainly an effective way to save on gas (while plowing the streets). lol I wonder if the cop was laughing. I mean what can you do, really?! Montreal does get a LOT of snow, but wherever that video was taken didn't get much at all. It's those "few inches at near freezing temps" that create those situations, but we so rarely, if ever get that. We tend to get more of the big dumps all at once (we call it the snowpocalypse) followed by -10 degrees and bright blue skies. A few weeks later, repeat (repeat this cycle for 3-4 months). We get the ice in the spring when it all melts. Because of this our budget for snow maintenance is through the roof. Accidents happen (of course), but it's nothing like in that video.Up until a few weeks ago I wouldn't have believed you based on your location. I'm in Prince George BC (Northern Interior). This was taken on a walking trail about a 20 minute drive from my house. We got about 6-8 feet of snow that year (I think this was two years ago). The road in wasn't plowed. Snowshoes required. lolUp until a few weeks ago I wouldn't have believed you based on your location.

Agree. Them Bridgestone Duelers do surprisingly well.I had the Bridgestone Duellers on both my 2010 and 2015 Saharas and thought they were great in the snow.
They were just trying to help each other get to the corner.Up until a few weeks ago I wouldn't have believed you based on your location. Okay, of all the animals out there, the Polar Bear mascot has ZERO traction on the ice, lol!hahaha Well that's certainly an effective way to save on gas (while plowing the streets). lol I wonder if the cop was laughing. Speaking of videos, the people trying to walk on ice are my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITES. There's really nothing funnier to me (people falling) other than people falling in costume (like dinosaurs, etc). 1:10 on this one nearly killed me. I'm going to hell for laughing so hard, for sure.
yeah, there were a couple of Rubicons but mostly Saharas/Sports with the LSD. So annoying. Hopefully, there's some type of recall soon.I am about half way through that thread and there are rubicon owners with the same issues. Looks like inferior carrier bearings were used in the D44's. Curious if FCA requested this setup from Dana or if it was just a design change. I am leaning toward the first and FCA being cheap.
It was! I reported it and it was gone when I went back a few days later. This was my street last year after a big fall... before the plows got to it. We get the good stuff too! Never in a million years did I think I would ever actually love winter. I can't WAIT to get out in it this year with the Jeep!!! CAN. NOT. WAIT.I'm hoping that tree was eventually taken care of...![]()

Congratulations! My hopes and confidence that you will enjoy your new rig and the Sahara will be problem free. Care to share color and options?Just placed an order last night for a Sahara with Selec-Trac. After talking with FCA yesterday it calmed my fears and the warranty, while a pita to utilize, provides some sort of security. The person I spoke to at FCA had just ordered his with Selec-Trac and he was surprised by the thread that I had linked.
