Just installed my Rockhard 4x4 steel rock sliders today. Easy install and took about 1hr to do total with hand tools only. They included some new hardware in the kit and these utilize all the pinch seem bolts plus the 3 body mount bolts. Nice and strong and a nice powder coat finish.

If you are horrified by this idea, please look the other way. I still need my 8 yr old to be able to climb into the vehicle while wearing snow pants...

Can you attach side steps to a Rubicon, and leave the rock rails installed?

I hate the MOPAR side step offerings. Does anyone know who makes some that look decent and are durable?
I’m horrified no one has these yet!!! M.O.R.E. Has there hide a step coming out soon but not sure how well that would work for your 8 year old! I totally agree with the concept your looking for, I’m actually thinking about welding some steps to the stock rubi rails so i can get in and out. I suffer from herniated discs and lifting my leg up high enough to climb in is a killer. I want to keep the stock rubi rails.

Think i have narrowed it down to Roam or LOD destroyers for my replacement sliders and steps. Neither are available yet and was wondering if someone could enlighten me as to the major differences if any between the two? Big question is the cost difference of $399. vs $869. That's a big difference and can't seem to see what the reason is..
Both seem to provide a reasonable step for little ones and older folks ...Both seem to provide additional protection from small rocks being thrown back etc. definitely don't want to be looking at the pinch seam of the body so will try and see which one mounts closer to cover this area. And both seem to provide at least as much protection as the Rubi factory rails.

Thanks
ROAM and LOD Destroyers are also the steps I've narrowed down to. I'm waiting for their 2-door versions to come out which both companies have confirmed via email are in plan. Not a fan of the big logo on the ROAM but are there any major differences, e.g. how they mount? It's difficult justifying the big difference in price but if one is much tougher than the other I can be on board.

Wow. Amazing. Can you share what your full setup is? Lift/wheels/tires/bumper?

Good thread, I'm contemplating which one to buy. It was mainly Roam or Rough Country's...but liked the idea of Ace bolting below the stock rails.

I went with Ace Rock Sliders and kept my stock Rubicon Rails on ! I love them and they allowed installation without removing the stock rails!
