Morning,

I swear I did my research on this and have been looking like crazy. It appears there is absolutely nothing in regards to steps that can be affixed to the OEM Rubicon rock rails besides a forum sponsor here who apparently scammed everyone and went out of business and a hide away step. The hide away looks like it’s a perfect way to skin your shin when you’re getting into your Jeep in the winter and slip off that tiny overpriced contraption.

anyone confirm?

been using the hide a step from MORE for two winters now and never had an issue and neither has my 62 yoa 5' tall wife..if you can brush your teeth without poking your eye with the tooth brush you won't slip off.

I could have sworn that I saw someone who recently released steps that would bolt on to the stock rails (similar to the defunct Archetype Racing steps but cheaper and more well-designed), but I can't for the life of me find them. I'll keep you posted if I do.

Also worth considering (unless you considered them already and decided they don't fit your needs) are a few different rock rails/side steps that don't mount to the Rubi rails but do work with them (Goat Fabrication and White Knuckle Off Road come to mind).

5 stars for the hide a step. If anyone hurts themselves using it, they shouldn't be driving.

Didn’t realize it was spring loaded, that’s kind of cool. My wife hated them so that was another reason. They just looked small and my first reaction was they’d be easy to slip off if your shoes were wet.

Sorry we missed this! Yes we have a great step product coming out this spring:

https://nxtgenautomotive.com/xterrain-steps-for-wrangler-gladiator-factory-rock-slider-rails

We’ll start an actual post in this part of the forum vs just our vendor section. So that those who are interested can see, discuss and keep track as we ramp up production in the correct forum section.

Thanks! After I posted this, someone showed me yours. Are they actually sold out or just not for sale yet?

Coming in the spring!

All of the tooling is in production right now. We’ll then start an interest list for the initial production run. We will then open them up for pre-order when they are about one week away from being shippable.

We will give plenty of notice 👍

How durable are the hide a step?

I'd like one for the passenger side, for the wife.
But have rubbed on my sliders a few times, and wondering how they would do against that.

if you are in the bigger rocks just pull a pin and they come right off. takes minute to put the off and on super simple. but yea I doubt they would take a big hit but I have to say I wheel a fair amount and have never hit them..

Oh they're removable easily? That's a win.
I'll be ordering one for sure. $180 isn't too bad.
