Has anyone mounted their rotopax up top? What did you use as a base for the rotopax mount? The rotopax brand mounting plate is short, so it requires you to bring the cross bars really close together. Ideas would be appreciated.

Can you post photos with the trunk door closed, and preferably top off? Does it prevent people from reaching in to the cargo area when the top is off? Thanks.

So far so good! Surf boards are all I’ve used it for to this point. Clean, low profile, they do the job.

I’ve been following this thread since the beginning, and finally decided to pull the trigger on the Exposed Racks by SMS. These things are heavy duty with multiple mounting points and multiple install methods. Can install over hard top, UNDER soft top and using soft top hardware, and topless...

Also, does it work with and without the hardtop on the truck?

Think the fabtech shelf could be easily modified to double as a method to secure the cargo area from thieves? Mainly concerned about people reaching in and grabbing stuff, less so about them breaking in and folding the seat down etc.

Take a look at the SMS Auto Parts Exposed Rack. Looks perfect, and can work with and without the hardtop. Best of all, cheap. Haven’t tried it yet, but it looks awesome.

Thanks for all the info, great stuff. Think the aluminum is necessary for the Rotopax? Was install easy otherwise? Called EVO to ask if there’s an easier way to add on mounting rings etc. Dropping some flex nuts in before install was the only thing they came up with. Took a closer look at...

Does the rack lock on to the wheel? Looks like the perfect option if so.
