Rubicon Recon Order Question

Hey y'all, my ordering dealer told me that after build the Jeep goes to another facility for the Recon upgrades. This seems completely ridiculous to me. Is this true, or are these all just added on the production line?

Makes sense that they would do it in the same factory to avoid taking off and replacing new parts (suspension, wheels, front axle, etc.) but is there a reason why it would matter for the end user?

Mainly for completion status. Kind of curious if the trackers account for items such as this; I would figure no.

This is true for your XR and many other vehicles. There are off-site facilities to install/swap factory accessories that are not installed on the production lines.

I don't think the Recon edition is still in production. It was done a few years ago for a short run, but I have not seen anything on that recently.

No issues; just wondering if the estimated delivery had this included as well, or should I anticipate longer for this. My dealer gave estimated delivery of 2/27. They said probably longer due to this option addition though.

My old order orange XR went from production to built within 5 days. Same spec XR but in blue took 1.5 to 2 weeks to get built, no idea what the delay was.

I pick up my blue truck Saturday morning, dealer has had the orange on the lot for about a week or two.

Yes, any builds that include mopar performance parts (tailgate reinforcement, spare relocation bracket, aux lights, etc) will be sent from the assembly line to another facility that handles the install of factory upgrades.

This stage is referred to "JB" in factory order tracking jargon. Upon completion, the Jeep will be sent back to the assembly line for final inspection, which is stage "I".

Orders that don't include factory upgrade parts will skip JB and go right from J to I.
