i run the Bilstein 5100’s (3-4” lift spec) & Rock Krawler 2.5” springs on my ‘22 Rubicon XR. Excellent combo, drives much better than the shitty OEM shocks with limited travel.
They are firm, but that’s as designed and improves the drivability of the Jeep. Less wandering, nose diving, etc when...
Truth. The JKU opened up to a new demographic of buyers… good for us that like hauling our family’s on trails but man, a lot of weirdos bought in.
If you’re on Facebook there’s a solid group to join, full of laughs haha
I’m with you, for every one 4 door Wrangler (JKU or JLU) I see that’s “tastefully” modified and likely wheeled, I see 15-20 that are rolling Amazon parts catalogs with some stupid name plastered on the hood and a dashboard full of ducks. The latest Gen Wranglers have created the equivalent of a...
If you have the 3.6 w/ E-Torque, then no. The motor mounts are different. I went with the MORE oil pan & transmission skid plate for that very reason. Limited options for e-torque owners.
Same. It’s not for me.
Personal opinion, so duckers don’t get hurt, I think it looks dumb seeing a Jeep with a dashboard full of rubber ducks. The duck crowd around me spends more time detailing their suspension parts and worrying about water spots than actually enjoying their Jeep.
Lol it’s 2mpg… that’s negligible. Buy & drive what you want and quit paying attention to trivial things like MPG in a brick shaped Jeep.
So… 21 vs 23mpg on avg
Assuming you drive 20k miles per year, gas at $3.50 per gallon, over 10 years… that’s not even $3,000.
Just to add context, I’m running the RK 2.5” springs, Bilstein 5100’s (3-4.5” version), & Mopar LCA’s on my ‘22 XR. I am very pleased with the results, the ride is nice & planted yet flexes great off-road.
You nailed it. I have never considered fuel economy in my car purchasing decision. I buy what I like, drive how I like. If I get 12mpg fine... if I get over 20mpg that's fine too. The gas money is negligible in the grand scheme of things, especially if you're considering a brick shaped Wrangler...
Just an update, after speaking with the shop performing the install, I ended up going with the 3.5-4" version. I am very pleased with the RK 2.5" springs & Bilstein 5100 combo on my XR. Rides great (maybe a little firm), handles well, and feels more planted in braking / turning maneuvers...
My 2022 Rubicon XR (plastic bumpers & tow package) suffered from limited travel and showed roughly an inch of space between bump stop & bump stop pad.
I solved this with RK 2.5" springs and Bilstein 5100 shocks (3-4.5" lift version).
Cannot wait to hit the trails and enjoy the added room & flex.
Been a busy week, I installed the MORE oil pan & transmission skid, complimented with the Skidrow Off-road exhaust loop skid plate. Today I picked it up from having Rock Krawler 2.5” springs & Bilstein 5100’s installed. Gained about 2.25” up front, right at 2” in the rear on my Rubicon XR. Love...

Yes, I have large hands (based on glove size) and had no issues fitting my hand through the hole. The fumoto valve should certainly be accessible. The MORE plate is really nice, definitely required some force to line up the front two brackets with the plate, that's where the floor jack came in...
I wouldn't bother replacing yet. In the past, my OEM stabilizers have looked much worse and still function. Even then, you can pick up the OEM pieces for practically free off FB marketplace. I don't see the need to drop $200-300 either.
