Hey Everyone,

Everyone has those thoughts that go through their head on day two of getting your new Jeep. How much to lift it? What tires to stuff under it? Etc. Many of us on here have been down that road before and had some pretty amazing builds. One in particular "may" have even been featured on the cover of Crawl magazine. "cough" Dookies Revenge "cough" ;) Every time I drive my JL it makes me realize how good it is stock and also how it will do pretty much anything I want to do with it without modification. I thought I would start a thread for those of trying to fight off the Jeep modding bug with our JLs. I would like to see some pictures of you guys wheeling your JLs on STOCK suspension and reasonably stock tires. This should be a really fun thread.

Here is the only one I have so far and its not really wheeling but it did take some wheeling to get there:

well... This is my 4th Jeep. Modded the others.. I am going to try to keep the suspension and tires stock for a while at least... maybe I won't ever lift it. It does everything I want it to already and it's my daily. I did take it off roading several times into some pretty moderate stuff and it was no sweat. I am, however, going to add a winch and possibly some lights and skid plates. that's about it for me.

[GALLERY=][/GALLERY] here’s a pic of mine with stock 33 inch tires and A warn 10s winch. I have not had a chance to take it off road yet but I will. Like you I’m probably going to leave it stock. I have owned a CJ with a lift, a brand new TJ, A JK Rubicon and a JK willies. I have not had a chance to take it off road yet but I will. Like you I’m probably going to leave it stock. This one is by far the best. You have a beautiful Jeep also !

I’ll posy mine up once I get it! I’m planning on staying stock until the warranty wears out

Here’s a few shots from my trip up to Ellis Peak (Lake Tahoe, CA). Wanted to see what it could do without any changes done (36 psi and sway bars left connected). Did surprisingly well for a stock Sahara.

This is a GREAT thread. I build (over built) an fj and a Tacoma back in the day. Other than cosmetic things that make me happy - oh and some steps i am leaving mine stock as far as tires, lift, etc. people need to google a lot, a stock wrangler can completely do things that would scare the $hit out of most of us. That said, if you want the tallest, biggest tires, crazy mean looking, hardest thing in the lot wrangler and want to get that w lift 35+ inch tires etc. that is PERFECTALLY FINE!!! There is nothing (nothing) wrong with that! Irl i lifted my fj because i saw this wheel tire combo i liked on the fj forums that required a lift just to make it fit - completely not functional but! IMO it looked great!
As with everything, spend your money on what makes you happy. If someone doesn’t like it for reason x,y,z they should keep their hating a$$ opinion to themselves.
For me i have built and built and spent and spent that was what made me happy at that moment. This go round ill stay stock tires, suspension and so on. I don’t want to bother with all that this time lol!
Have fun do what you like!

Nice topic. Living in a highrise with an underground garage 6'5" is my limit, at least for the near future until I retire and move. So I will be more focused on non-lifting stuff like skid plates, bumpers and such to limit what drags and improve the ability to scrape. So far I'm drawn to the RockHard aluminum stuff for the lighter weight but have to admit the MetalCloak (steel) skid plate system looks like the best value out there.

Planning on leasing my JL Rubi so no serious interest in modding myself, the most I'd consider are larger tires and a winch. I had a stock '12 JK Sahara for three years and I was surprised at the places I was able to get to without any pricey mods. Unless you are gunning for some serious shit, these rigs are very capable right out of the box and will crush the majority of trails accessible to the public. Based on my previous JK experience, I can not wait to bomb all over eastern California with the improved capabilities of an '18 Rubi compared to a '12 Sahara.

Slow morning at work today so I exercised the suspension a little bit on our property here.

;)OP, I'd like to participate but (eyes to ground tail between legs) feel myself not worthy. I "modded" my Wrangler the other day with an air freshener. Does this push me over the edge of what you're defining as "modded" for this post?

And while we're on the subject, a philosophical question: as our system of laws goes to intentions, is the part ordered for the Wrangler, that otherwise would "mod" it, still count if it's on perpetual back order and has yet to be received/installed?;)

I'm trying to keep from modifying too much this time round myself. I just want to go hiking, biking, and camping more. Will see how long I can hold out. :fingerscrossed:
