After weeks of reading dozens of forum messages, charging my battery, disconnecting my battery, checking fuses, reconnecting every door harness connector and looking for bent pins, checking the gas cap, hood sensors, etc. - I found the issue with my remote start not working. I cannot take credit, it was a post from TrainMan on the Gladiator forum.
I use Tazer JL Mini but I do have JScan because the diagnostics are better and I wanted to see if they support adding heated seats to my UConnect unit. Long story short, it deactivated my Auto Start/Stop feature which was already set by the Tazer. I assume the Tazer just remembers the last setting but for whatever reason, that setting was set and saved to Deactivated. When that happens, Remote Start ceases to function. I certainly didn't correlate using JScan and the remote start not working.
So I'm posting this in the event someone else is going through this craziness and you might be a JScan user. BTW, ESS really doesn't work in JScan as you have to disable your hood sensor so I'm not sure why anyone would use it because you get a dash CEL. I digress.
I guess the key here is if you don't see an EVIC message, there's no CEL on, you just get the light flash and horn (if not disabled) then you might be faced with the same issue.
Hope this helps someone else.
