I can't be the first one to have done this but the factory shock mounts are pretty easy to cut off.

Grind off some paint, move 'em up and make some bright light....

I figured why give $90 to MC when I'll have to lop the originals off anyway. Oh, I did weld in the nut for the sway bar so I just use a wrench from the outboard side

Now when I get the "knock" in my rear diff the dealer can claim my welds caused the differential to give out (hey, ya never know!) :)

We do a similar thing with rear shocks on our 3 link long arm rears. We move the shock mounts up to get the bottom of the axle tubes cleaned up and help to prevent hang ups as well as shock damage. We also raise the mounting point on the frame side to account for the raise on the axle so you don't loose suspension travel.

How much does the upper RK frame side shock mount get raised? Is that mount designed to handle a coilover? Thanks!

I have the RK long arm kit on. The mounts are raised about 3-31/2”, and 3” on the axle. I think the mounts are to close to the frame for coil overs, but that’s a guess, I’m on springs and shocks.
Here’s pic…. The bolt is where the oem mount was. …..

Thanks for posting these pictures! They do a great job raising the lower shock mount. The OEM position is low.

No worries, yeah I didn’t realize how low until I looked at pics, lol.
