Anyone had issues getting their rear locker to actually lock? I am tracking all of the issues folks have with the service 4wd drive light and other issues related to the lockers flashing while driving, thats not the problem I am having. Everything appears to be functioning as normal but when I try and engage the rear locker it wont engage, just keeps flashing. I have it in 4LO, have tried it from a dead stop and have kept it under 10 mph. The light just flashes. I even tried my locker bypass from Z-Auto and had the dealer replace the diff sensor and still nothing. I'm about to take it back to the dealer to have them look at it again but was curious if anyone had any other ideas I should look at.

With the diff cover off have someone engage and disengage the rear locker. Or do it yourself while taking a video with your phone propped up on something. This plate should move laterally. Is it? If not do you have voltage at the electrical connector on the diff?
@chevymitchell and @roaniecowpony will be a better source of info.

When this happened to my front locker, I tried the bypass. No dice.

I pulled the connector from the actuator coil to the sensor. There are only two wires in that connector, a red and a black. I made some small gauge jumpers to get power from a 12v source (battery) to the connector. When I connected power to it, the plate jumped about 1/8" to the left as it should. I repeated the test several times. It was intermittent. I held the power on it and it started to smoke the wires. It had a dead short in the coil internally. I found the issue. That was the good part.

The bad part is that jeep doesn't sell the actuator coil like they did for previous models. There are no direct actuator coil replacements from the aftermarket. Dana Spicer doesn't sell this part for our JLs either. In fact, you can't buy the locking differential carrier, the actuator coil, or the actuator plate.

The only options were going to an aftermarket differential carrier like the ARB, Eaton, or OX. But all of those that will fit the Rubicon housing, require you to go to a 35 spline axle set. (stock is 32). I had just installed a set of chromoly 32 spline axles at great expense and work (another thread about front axles), so I didn't want to go to 35 spline axles.

Through a lot of research and buying parts, I found that a Bronco D44 Advantek locker differential is the same. The locking actuator coil is slightly different and doesn't use a sensor. I came up with a way to make the actuator coil work in the JL. Front Locker Coil Replacement with Bronco Locker | Jeep Wrangler Forums (JL / JLU) -- Rubicon, 4xe, 392, Sahara, Sport - JLwranglerforums.com

If you get to the point of wanting to pursue the Bronco differential carrier or locker actuator, PM me.

I am anxious to see what happens with this order. Benny, from All Mopar Parts thought he had a valid part number for the locker diff carrier and actuator assembly, and tried to order one for me a few months back. It was a dead end. It would be great if FCA changed the availability status of this part. I've pissed and moaned enough about it every chance I could. 😫

So what actually happened when Benny placed the order? Was it canceled, not accepted at all or what?

Haven’t been tracking what? I’ve seen issues other have had with the locker light coming on randomly and flashing but didn’t see anyone with the same issue I was having with it not engaging after replacing the sensor.

Either way…..thanks for your input :)

Basically I received a box of parts that were not the differential parts. I don't recall what they were. But Benny apologized and accepted the return.
