Help, I'm out of ideas. I have a crazy loud and worrisome rattle coming from rear passenger of my 2018 jlu. It's happening when driving on rough roads or over bumps. Sounds like something is bottoming out. Can't duplicate it bouncing. Had a look at the sway bar, links, control arms and all seem tight. Have a mopar lift with Fox shocks, purchased that way. Any ideas or insight is appreciated. Driving me mad!

Don’t shoot me, but empty your storage cubby and the jack location. Totally possible something snuck in there and now sounds funny.
I know, dumb. For some reason sounds carry weird from back there. But a few threads like this have turned out that way. Free.99 and then we can get into the gritty.

Your evap canister is installed up inside of the rear passenger wheel well. Maybe part of it has come loose.

Worn or bad control arm bushings did that on our JLUR with RK X Factor arms, (they were a bad batch of bushings that RK replaced for free) Anyway the sound you described is exactly the clunk sort of sound that it made. Also we could not duplicate it by bouncing the Jeep by hand or jerking and pulling on the arms. Took me months to finally figure it out.

Pulled the fender and tightened it down a little extra. Not the culprit unfortunately, but thanks. ???

Crazy! Well she goes to the shop next Monday so I'll be sure to mention that as a possible source. Maybe a bad fox shock too. Thanks! ???

Rear jack could have come loose in the bracket.

Did you check that ALL the bolts on your hardtop are tightened down?

All "seem" tight? As in you hit each with a torque wrench and torqued to spec? If not, I would 100% start there first. Upper lower controls arms front and rear, shock bolts, track bar front and rear.

Muffler bearings.

But in all seriousness your exhaust bounces everywhere. Have you wiggled it around? Some of the rubber isolation bushings could be bad.

Haven't actually torqued things to spec, but will certainly do so. Thanks! ???
