yeah, seems logical, doesn't it?
but i don't find anything there about Lubricants, or links that obviously connect to lubricants,..

My copies came originally from the JLForum here, either Transmissions, Axles, Gears or Maintenance, Lubricants technical forums on the site. This was three years ago.

Right? Like how is "rebuild specs" different from what they want it to run before it is rebuilt? You see the gear oil weight suggested in the link though right? Or am I misunderstanding what youāre asking or trying to prove/disprove here?

can't know without validating, and i wouldn't be assuming.Right? Like how is "rebuild specs" different from what they want it to run before it is rebuilt?
Or a crate axle if thatās close enough. Really follow the owners manual or follow Dana Spicer literature, get a diff cover that adds volume and takes a few more seconds for the gear oil to get hot, get super duper secret high tech axle covers I bet it isnāt worth getting wrapped around the axle overā¦best bad joke on the spur of the moment.Right? Ok I posted a better link for you. It felt like youāre wrong but I donāt feel like proving why. I guess I read into it.yup. and perhaps.
wasn't necessarily about trying to "prove/disprove" anything; just couldn't find that spec online anywhere, and like to verify/validate. now appears it's a copy of a file someone saved of something someone else made years ago, so possibly no longer available online (and possibly no longer accurate).

forgive the apparent skepticism, but i've made a living in part by validating or debunking stuff. getting to the source (and a second source, if you can!) is a Good Thing.

Whenever Iāve been that curious about something I usually contact tech support directly, usually by email just so I have something to go back to rather than when the question comes up just saying Joe at Dana Spicer told me blah blah blah. But in this case Iām not feeling like itās that important to me at least. I change my diff fluid far too frequently and I am more concerned about my 3.6 grenading than what diff fluid I runā¦only partially joking.so far, links we've seen (that we can attribute to Dana) have sometimes called out synthetic lube, and other times they haven't specified synthetic or not. conflict, or just a lack of specificity?
even our J**p manuals specify 2 different weights.
Eaton will specify a non-synthetic if you use one of their gear-driven limited slips in the same axle.
not clear there's a huge difference in what you use if you're keeping it fresh and clean.
