I have my dashcam mounted up front which is all fine and dandy but I'd like to preferably mount my rear cam as well but my problem is, I don't really know where/how. I have a stop top so I can't use any of the roof to mount it and have to have it high enough to see over folded roof.

I have a 2 door and rear seat is removed and I do a 5 tire rotation when I need to change them around (so mounting on the spare may not be the best idea). Anyone have any examples/ideas on where to mount this?

Here is a vid of what my rear cam looks like, with the soft top all buttoned up. I will go get a still shot of where my rear is placed and add to this post.

Awesome, do you have it mounted to the center roll bar where the speakers are? I play music a lot with bass, wonder if that would effect it. Do you have it mounted with adhesive (tape), zip ties/velcro, or screwed in? Can it stay in place when the top goes down?

Thanks :D

I only play my music loud ;)
You might have to get creative on your mount. I have my adhesived (what came with the cam) to an aux light I put up there. Just make sure you have a clean, flat surface if using any adhesive. As you can see from my pic, the JP is filthy on the inside. I run "open" April-October and am in very dusty environs. No issues yet. GL. And the soft top poses no issues, it is under the rollbar.

My rear dash camera's lens, while not centered, has enough space on either side of it on the camera that I can bungee ball it at either end (wrapping up the slack of the bungee ball tie) to the sports bar and not have it block the lens.

I may have to look into something like that, I just need to figure out where I want to mount it lol. @Aonar says he has it on his roll bar so I'll prob do the same, his view looks good and should be good with roof up or down.

I wonder if it's possible to record the factory backup camera feed...

Please note that the roll bar @Aonar refers to and my reference to the Sports Bar are one and the same. Stellantis I believe likes the term Sports Bar to denote that the JL's roll bar isn't exactly up to the specs of your racecar's similar structure. ;)

The only thing is I don't have that bar. I see you're in a 4-door, I only have the 1 main bar with the speakers, so mine may sit higher. Hm...

If you have a way to temporarily mount it on YOUR bar, do that and then see how it looks from that perch when recording.

Hi,

There was a post about repositioning the camera into the rear bumper under the spare tire, may do this to mine after its out of warranty, but looked slick.

Regards,
Jim
