You will need to fasten it down with say, Command Strips..... otherwise, the pad will blow upward.
Good to know, thx. It's pretty thick, but I was still wondering if it would be heavy enough. I also stopped in at Home Depot. They have heavy duty, rubber stair treads that I thought might work, but I figured I'd give the mouse pad a try first.

I also considered gluing the mouse pad strip to something else with more weight. Ideally I'd like to remove it quickly/easily if the center of the windshield starts to fog up.

I bought a 24" piece of 5/8" aluminum from Lowe's, cut a 4" long slot in center and taped the piece down with black duct tape. Obviously cut the slot out. Don't notice any appearance problem and winshield problem gone. The bar almost snaps in it fits so perfect.

We shouldnt have to Jerry Rig our Jeeps, just to get them to function, properly. Perhaps someone, with a 3D printer, can make a nice looking insert???

i was thinking that route but i did not want it flying off in case of a collision. my mouse pad was not heavy enough by itself so i am going to try the double sided tape route and see if that works

I know you don't need one more owner to jump in, but I have the same issue...

I've owned 6 Jeeps and this is the first one with this issue.....I waited and waited for this model in Mojito and thought this would be the bomb, between the steering issues and surging, defrost and the Stealer telling me oh it's a Jeep.....We cant find anything wrong BS...

Just a thought, has anyone tried a piece of black kydex....It is heat sensitive and can be molded to your needs....Lot of folks use this to make holsters for their pistols...

I made a piece of Kydex to cover mine. I put about a 35 degree bend in it as well as a center hole. I may have to make more holes.

It is 7 3/4 inches long and 4 inches wide.

With the bend it fits great down behind the dash and doesn’t need anything to hold it down.

Absolutely ridiculous that people are having to make these mods on $50k vehicles. I pick mine up on the 21st.

I rode all day yesterday in snow. In places 14 inches...Window never fogged once...So this little piece of Kydex solved my problem and you can't see it unless you look real hard....You can get Kydex in different colors....Very easy to work with...If you happen to bend it too much, just reheat it and straighten it back out...I used a heat gun, but have seen a hair dryer used to heat it up...I used a 2X4 to get a straight edge.
