The dealership that is working on your Jeep doesn’t understand. I am saying nothing of your knowledge or skill level.
Than I apologize for misreading your post. In fairness this was a private shop, not the dealership.

I wondered after the fact if something else didn’t happen while it was there, but I can’t see any damage and neither could the shop that checked the alignment. The dealer said the dampener was back ordered which explained the wait.
When you put you Jeep in for service, NOTE the miles driven. Dealers sometimes have employees that run trails with your Jeep.

Put my Jeep into the dealer for an in an out job of replacing the wiper motor. Said I would have it by 5 pm, (it's Monday am). Did not get it till Friday. Pulled out of the dealer and noticed my turn signals not working. Figured a bulb or a fuse. NEITHER. Raido did not play,...Fuse! Found out my front turn signals did not work because the WIREs had been cut! Radio did play and it was an Alpine OEM. It was Saturday and I knew the dealer would not fix it but there was an Alpine dealer in town so I drove over and the Alpine tech looked at it, turns out the plug was taken out and then stuff up behind the radio. He said some did not want the plug to be found it stuffed up and on top of the radio.

Yesterday I drove from the dealer with my 2024 JLR-X. It was the 5 th time I had been there for the TPMS that did not work.

WHY? The mechs working on it NEVER replaced the TPMS units, even tho they had them in stock at the dealer. The Mech order was to replace all 4 TPMS, they never did but said they had. They were programming them instead of replacing but the work sheet give to me said they were replaced, signed off by the Mech.

So I would pick up my Jeep 'fixed' hit the I 75 and by the time I got home my TPMS had failed again and again and again....

YEP never know what happens out in the shop of a dealer

“Dealer recently replaced my steering dampener. The vehicle was there for about two and a half weeks. When I got it back it started pulling decently to the right. It tracked straight prior to taking it in.

When I called to inform them that it now pulled to the right they stated that there was no way it could be from the dampener replacement.”

They’re wrong.

People doing alignments these days have no clue about straight axles. The cross caster (the difference between left side and right side) is welded into them. Cross caster is not adjustable with adjustable control arms. If one side is decreased by 0.1 degree, the other side gets decreased by 0.1 degree. For some reason, the alignment machines will show the two sides changing by different amounts and the alignment guy will crank the living snot out of one side until the machine says it is all in spec when, in reality, all he did was put the suspension in a major bind.

You do not need adjustable control arms and my guess is the cross caster is within specs anyway.

That’s why I went with an independent shop. I wanted to get an outside look. Anyway, I do appreciate all the advice everyone has provided. My first step will be the full steering lock. If that fails to improve it I will remove the stabilizer, and of that doesn’t work swap the tires to see if one of them is coning.

Wild how the dealer kept the Jeep for that long just to swap the steering dampener.
It was likely backorder problems. I recently had my third instance of "Death Wobble" on my 2021 Wrangler. I was told there was no estimated ETA for a replacement Damper because they were so in the weeds. My only real option was to purchase an after-market damper which, of course, was not covered in the warranty.

You are better off. The factory damper is junk imo. The fact that it's warranteed doesn't change the fact they replace junk with junk. The entire steering setup is barely sufficient as it is. That's why most owners will experience dw at some point within the first 30k miles. But that's the nature of the beast i suppose. Cheaper for fca to replace a few dampeners than to beef up all the front ends on them. They did improve on the JK as far as the trackbar and a few other components but then gave it that god-awful electro hydraulic steering pump which imo contributes to all the steering issues people now notice- wander, pull, loose feel, the whiney noise (you Rubicon owners know what im talking about). My TJ and JK never had any tracking issues. They got dw, but never issues with driving straight!

I’m not great with suspension components, but wouldn’t adjustable control arms fix the rear axel angle?
Yes you could adjust the rear thrust angle with upper and lower adjustable control arms. This would also change the rear toe.
That may or may not change the pull.

I'm with the crowd, start with the simple free stuff. Like tire pressure, tire rotation, remove steering stabilzer, etc. One thing at a time to see if any individual change fixes your issue.

Good luck.

Agreed. I am on my third damper at 50k miles. Definitely worth it to get a decent damper as dw always happens when I am on a trip far from home. Thanks.

Any update on the issue?
I tried the simplest option first and did the wheel lock procedure. I drove to a gravel lot and went full lock 5 times. Took it down the highway and there was a marginal improvement. So, I went back to the lot and did it again., This time it seemed to do the trick. Still a very slight pull, but fairly negligible.

So, I tried swapping the spare out that they had rotated in after my requested five tire rotation. Quick backstory, on my previous trip to the dealer and 10,000 miles prior, they had failed to include the spare in the rotation so it started to make me wonder of the slight increase in tire size due to wear on the others was causing my remaining problem. Sure enough it was, Jeep tracked straight as an arrow afterwards. So, I put the spare back on with the knowledge of why it’s pulling. Ultimately, the tire lock fixed the majority of the problem, I would recommend anyone trying that first if they encounter this issue in the future.

I'm glad for you that it was resolved. Thank you for the update. Your posts and persistence might help those with similar problems. This forum is a great resource.
