@JeepCares I customer ordered my 2018 JL Wrangler Sport in the fall of 2017. Last year the paint on both lower door hinges started flaking off and this year I noticed paint bubbling and cracking. I waited 15 years to buy that Jeep and, after this experience, I doubt I'll buy another one, unless Jeep steps up and makes this right. I got a quote for over $6000 to fix both doors and blend in the paint color to the side panels but I should have to do this on a vehicle I purchased (ordered!) new. I could drive around with a Jeep missing paint on the doors and let that reflect back on Jeep but it's becoming embarrassing. What do I do?

First, let me say: my condolences.
Good luck with @JeepCares . the best you can hope for is a dealership agreeing to pay 1/2 of "Their Total Cost" for the repair. I would take the doors off, and have them sand blasted. Then repainted at a reputable shop. Do as much of the prep work yourself.

So I have her '21 and my '22 scheduled to get the hood, doors and tailgate painted. They are only offering a car for 5 days and they say it will take a month for each. Better than nothing. I also a '14 Jetta Wagon that is an extra so that makes it a little more tolerable.

It's a 2018. What warranty? Unless Stellantis admits to an inherent flaw with their Aluminum/Paint/Corrosion, then does the right thing, and issues a recall/fix, for all JL's effected.

Waiting to hear the reply from @JeepCares from another 2018 JL owner in the same situation with the bubbling paint that is due to poor paint preparation in production. What will Stellantis do to make it right?

Tell you to PM them with the last 8 digits of your VIN number and mileage(to handle the issue off the public forum). Then, pretty much nothing.

If its any consolation, other forums are having issues too. @Ramcares is one that comes to mind.

We need to have rusty club meetups where we park our rust buckets in front a dealership

Get some window shade saying Rusted at 3 years etc
Let's set it up.

National Rust Bucket Jeep Meet

Invite all of of the news stations. 🤣👌
See if that forces them to do something about it.

Imagine the CEO turning on his TV to see thousands of his products on the news with corrosion. A class action lawsuit would do nothing for us. lol

Make our Wranglers a rolling billboard, with issues spelled out, in large letter for all to see. Also, park in front of the.dealerships.

@JeepCares I've take phenomenal care of my JL Wrangler and this issue is affecting every one of my doors. I'm a few months out of my factory warranty, have an extended warranty, and both Jeep and Mopar are telling me to pound sand. Pretty 💩 I wasn't notified by Jeep/Mopar about the TSB's due to the known manufacturing defect. What can I do?

Just tonight I went to the local jeep dealer to see the used jeeps on their lot. 4 out of 6 had corrosion. All 2019 and up. One was particularly awful. All hinges with the bubbling spreading on all 4 doors. It was a 2022.

Is this something you can DIY with just wire brush and paint over with a harbor freight paint gun?
I know you have to be careful with the metal dust.

TSB says bubbles in middle of panel can be treated and repainted, but calls for replacing the doors if it's at the seam, because it's nearly impossible to get to the source in the seam.
