I agree that it’s not just the hinges. I had some bubbling on the hood leading edge. I’m thinking it’s the hinge material mis match and a problem with the primer, paint or clear coat. I’m hoping the body shop fixes it with a good coat of new paint & clear coat.

Just noticed bubbles in paint in small area on drivers door. Hoping to get in contact with Jeep cares as it is just out of the 5yr warranty. 2018 JLU with low mileage, always garaged.

Black 2022 Sport S purchased May of 22. Bubble on windshield frame at top is the only thing so far.

Don’t think it matters how well we keep our jeeps, outside of warranty we’re screwed for sure. Many are screwed in warranty. This entire issue is simply ludicrous. It’s widespread yet Stellantis continues to escape culpability. I’m sorry for your discovery…at this point the best advice might be to dump it before it becomes more noticeable. Even after repairs, the problem will recur. Certainly very cancer like.

I have enjoyed my Jeep but corrosion is showing up on a couple of hinges…and I don’t want to mess with a developing problem going forward, even if Stellantis pays for the first fix. Once you start painting things it shows up on Carfax and value takes a hit. A sale is forthcoming. No more Stellantis anything for me…

I'm wondering what the long-term solution to this bubbling issue is going to be, from the manufacturer??
Hey, @JeepCares , can you please let us know where us Wrangler owners are on this Major Problem?? Does Jeep really care?
Do you see the percentage of people with this issue??

I’ve been thinking about ordering a new Jeep but honestly I don’t wanna deal with the bubbling.
My husband keeps asking me when I’m ready to order and I just don’t have the same excitement as I did in 2018.

I wish an American company would buy Jeep and manufacture them with all steel like they used to.

Add another to list with paint bubbles. 2022 JLUR in granite crystal metallic.

Drivers side hood edge. About 4in long of bubbles towards front. Had no idea this was a common issue, now I will go over it with fine tooth comb.

Almost all of the corrosion on my 21 Willys was on the hinges themselves not the bodywork. There was some on the leading edge of the hood and around the hinges. You would have to look VERY closely to see it BUT my local dealer warrantied it without question.

Just picked it up from the dealer. They installed new hinges on 4 doors, the hood and tailgate, and treated the corrosion, primed and painted all 4 doors and the hood & tailgate It came out really good. Looks like new

I had bubbles in the paint of my old car, but it was possible to fix. The person who fixed it also told me to keep my car away from too much water and direct sun in the future. He suggested using a special coating to protect the paint from weather damage.

Living in FL avoiding sun and water = impossibility.

I will be having ceramic coated after 90 days to let the clear coat harden.

Can't believe that this is what our beloved Wranglers have come to. Don't expose to the water...don't expose to the sun...don't expose to oxygen...just keep it in the garage and pet it (carefully) with a nice soft diaper. Makes Prius look like a rugged beast of vehicle! Wouldn't be so bad if Stellantis actually cared and did a recall. Sure wish I hadn't sold my old CJ and TJ...assuredly, those were far better times to be a Jeep owner. No more Stellantis products for me.

Last summer I purchased a 2019 JLU that had minor corrosion on the hinges. The dealer said it would be covered for the repair by the warranty, so I purchased it only to find out the dealer didn't even have a body shop and referred me to another dealer. The new dealer took pictures, said they would file the claim, and order the hinge kit for me. It has been about 6 months waiting on parts and when I spoke to the dealer they said there is no official claim number necessary, just an order number for the hinges. Does this sound right and how long did you have to wait for parts to come in?

Then look for another paint on our top cover. But bubbles on this car say that it has been on adventures, and this car is made for it.

22 Wrangler Granite Crystal.
Just got hit with bubbles on the hood hinges.
Dealership sent me to their own body shop who will do the repairs and warranty as long as I own the Jeep.
Love the Jeep off road, but these paint prep issues are horse shit and resale will take a hit.
I knew it was a possibility going in so I'll stop crying about it now.
