Add another to list with paint bubbles. 2022 JLUR in granite crystal metallic.

Drivers side hood edge. About 4in long of bubbles towards front. Had no idea this was a common issue, now I will go over it with fine tooth comb.
Follow up to my post. Did a wash yesterday, found another patch of bubbles bottom of passenger door.

Thankfully I am leasing this $65k hunk of junk. Do I even deal with the issue or let it rust away? Would they dare try to ding me for this when I turn in the lease?

When is the lease up?. If you have to periodically get it inspected, point it out.

Don’t worry about it if it’s a lease, why go through the whole hassle and be without your jeep for however long. You already called it a piece of junk, so I’m assuming you’re just gonna get rid of it anyway, let the next person deal with it.
isn’t that the whole point of lease?

I only leased it because I wasn't confident in the 4xe platform. Turns out to be the right call. Funny enough the hybrid powertrain has been great. I have never had a new vehicle that starts rusting under the paint. Blows my mind a modern vehicle would even have this problem just 2 years into ownership. This will be my last Stellantis vehicle, I had plans of moving into a Gladiator.

You called it a 65K hunk of junk. Not me.

2020 JLU now has four doors and eight hinges on order. Dealer replaced the hood and hinges last year!

2019 Rubicon Mojito. Just noticed bubbles at hinges on all doors, hood hinge and along edges on some doors. Taking it to dealer today.
Good luck. I hope they fix it.

No update yet. Still waiting for the parts to arrive. Dealer dos not have a paint shop so they will take it off site!
Sometimes off-site is better. Mine was done off-site, and they did a better than OEM job. Just make sure they prime and paint under the hinges. If they could put a shim between them too, that would be an extra layer of protection, even if you have to pay a little extra, out of pocket.

New hinges already come with a zinc shim

I did not watch them closely when they painted my hood. The color was an RCH off. Time has allowed the color to mellow. I will be watching more closely this time. There are a few shopping cart track on the fender flairs which I'll pay for out of pocket. I don't expect to see the doors for a month or two.
