Pointed out each and every spot on the Jeep that has the bubbling paint, photos were taken and supposed to be submitted.
I was told the body shop is booked through January.
“We’ll call you.”

“If you don’t, you can bet I’ll call you.”

They were aware of the situation, but not very happy to have to be dealing with it.
If they actually submit the claim, it shouldn't take more than a week to get a response. See if you can get a claim number, that they submit.

Well, crap! My 2018 has two door hinges that are starting to show signs of bubbling. Round two, probably this summer, or one of the school breaks, when there is more time to have it worked on.

2020 JLU Rubicon, 83,000km (51,500 miles) parked underground. Bikini pearl paint. Someone who was aware of the issue pointed the bubbles out to me after about a year of ownership, brought it in to have hinges repaired, when I got it back a half week later other bubbles had come up. That was about a year ago and now every hinge besides the ones that were looked at have bubbles. Waiting to hear back from the local dealership again, they are dodging the issue like it's the plague now, for Jeeps that's basically what this is.

Just noticed some bubbles/oxidation on mine last week. Bottom edge of hood about 4 inches behind the latch. Going in for oil changer tomorrow, and they are supposed look at it and start a warranty claim. I’m a year and 4 months in on my ’22 JLUR.

We had the exact same issue with the dealer we bought the JL from. Saying sorry we no longer will handle corrosion claims - because we do not have a body shop. Apparently they were not making enough money and was too much of a hassle for them. Haha! Great. Thx.

So contacted dealers with body shops. Found one - out of many - who were willing to help.

For others unfamiliar with this issue:

1 Based on actual experience with this - once you have any tiny speck of corrosion appear in the form of bubbling paint - more will almost surely appear - days to weeks to months to years after. We dealt with 3 warranty claims over 4-1/2 years - so know 100% firsthand.

2 Interestingly a dealer with a body shop we have never dealt with - just called this pm informing that the 3 panels have been replaced and all the repairs completed. Has been the most pleasant experience yet. Manager super helpful and fully aware coverage was for 5 full years - not 3 or not zero - as some have posted in this forum.

3 Manager even went so far as to get pre-approval from the District Manager to confirm it was 100% covered "after 5 years" - due to panel parts delaying the repairs - out of their control. DM wrote back in an email - No problemo. Nice.

4 So got a JL loaner to use the past couple of weeks. Also nice. But from this point forward - am 100% on our own on this. Not sure if it is better to unload at "more than what was paid 4-1/2 years ago" and get something else - or keep. Hmm? That is the question. Yes an actual confirmed cash payment for more than what was paid 4-1/2 years ago.

Besides that - the JL has been simply fantastic and is a 4x4 winter and summer beast. Tough decision. So will wait and see.

If you bought a Wrangler to keep it pristine, you bought it for the wrong reasons.
Nothing worse than a clean Wrangler.

If you hit the trails, you're going to get trail damage, dents, dings, scratches. Paint bubbles should be the least of your worries.
Nothing worse than a shiny Wrangler.

Nothing a Brillo pad and a can of paint can't fix!

I wish I was offered a deal like that. This was the first time I've purchased a non imported vehicle thinking if I paid more I'd get a vehicle that would be problem free for years to come and the small hiccups I'd have no problem covering as it would be a vehicle I could "run into the ground." Three years later there's oxidation on the hood, the windshield hinges, all doors and the tailgate, bumper to bumper coverage I guess you could call it!

Haha!

Yeah bumper to bumper - is definitely valid
Maybe after you get the corrosion repaired
See what they will give you on a trade-in

Interestingly other Jeep dealers pay a lot more
Than the dealer it was initially purchased from

Oddly non-Jeep dealers also provide these same:
"Instant Cash Offers"

So you can even switch to a different manufacturer
Obviously depends what happens in your area
But guess this is a standard valuation many use now

Even talked to the dealer about their valuation
Manager told me - yep guaranteed price
But only valid for a couple of days

I’ve had my ocean blue metallic wrangler for about 3.5 years before I seen multiple bubbles. Did a thorough detail in the beginning of spring and noticed these areas and it has since gotten worse.

Since posting on July 18th I've found new bubbles on my hood. I get what tredsdert is saying, I think my Jeep looks great dirty, but I also take pride in it looking immaculate too, spending hours cleaning and waxing is not something I'm afraid of. However, I went WAY out of my way to find this Jeep in bikini pearl, a 1600$ upgrade if I'm not mistaken, and if I knew it would turn to rust I would have looked for it in a brown color.

My JKU is a 2016. I noticed the bubbling on the hinges maybe after 4 years. I only noticed since after a chip fell off there was exposed rust. I tried to get the dealer to fix it but they said it wasn't covered. Now I am really fuming to see this is a JEEP issue and I'm not the only one. Why haven't they recalled them? Why am I now the owner of a 50k jeep that still looks new after 7 years except for the rusted door hinges. Thats why people don't buy American vehicles.... they are poorly made.

I contacted my jeep dealer 4 years after I bought it and they said they couldn't do anything. Now I'm reading that some people got theirs covered. I'm not a happy camper
