Thinking about making a trek to the same area in May. We are Kentuckians also. Will be our first JEEP trip as far as off-roading. Looking to stay in Ouray a few days to get some trails in, and then maybe going to either Moab or the Grand Canyon.
A few more parts installed over the last week. Artec inner fenders (still on sale for a great price) front and rear. Easy install, but fit very tight. Had to use some extra persuasion to get the rears in all the way. Also put on my Infinite Offroad rock lights. Went with the 6W magnetic RGBW...
Hopefully reviving this post. Curious as to what everyone has done to upgrade the factory Alpine sub. Love mine when the top is up and rear windows on, but hate the way the bass falls off when the top is down. Would prefer to keep the factory enclosure, and will eventually be replacing all speakers.
Just noticed some bubbles/oxidation on mine last week. Bottom edge of hood about 4 inches behind the latch. Going in for oil changer tomorrow, and they are supposed look at it and start a warranty claim. I’m a year and 4 months in on my ’22 JLUR.
Been longer than I thought since my last post. Slowed down on the Jeep to finish a few other projects, but have picked up a few more mods. Scored (stole) the factory LED DRL/Turn Signals from a fellow local Jeeper for $75. Finally got my “Doors Off” mirrors to stay legal. Went with the Lange...
The offset on mine is -18. Puts the outer blocks of tread just past the factory flares. I love my 35’s but do wish they were 37’s. Only reason I didn’t go larger was my drive to work. 37’s would have killed my MPG w/o re-gearing. Hope to re-gear later this year so I can go larger with my next...
Just installed my FabFours stubby. Found it on sale though Morris4x4 for under $400 bare metal. 2 coats of roll on Herculiner that I let cure for almost 2 weeks, and couldn’t be happier. Just waiting on the winch to arrive.
Bumper on, and winch on the way! Ended up ordering an Open Road Panther 2 winch in the custom red color (Early Black Friday Sale). Should be here mid-week. Love the difference the bumper alone made. Should definitely be ready for the adventures I have planned. Plenty of trails around the state...
Bumper is coated and curing. Awfully hard to no go ahead and throw it on, but leaving out for a cruise at the end of the week. By the time I return the Herculiner should be 💯….. Next is deciding on the winch……
Just wanted an evil sounding and “scary” name. Figured you couldn’t get much more evil and scary than a demons name which translates to “The Destroyer”. Only thing destroyed so far is my bank account!
Pleasant surprise call yesterday to inform me of my bumper arriving a few days early. One of the few times FedEx has impressed me. On to coat and mount. Also added some Quadratec Pods that I found on sale for under $20. The VOSwitch system makes installs incredibly easy and quick.
While I’m waiting on my bumper to ship I found a couple of “bargains” to throw on. Got the DV8 40” light from Quadratec for $70 and the mounts from DV8 for $10. Hard to pass on those prices. Went with the VOSwitch JL800 to make sure I have plenty of room to expand as I add more lighting and...
I hear you on the cost. I caught them during the summer sale a couple months ago. Haven’t had them on anything I’d consider washboard, unless you count the wonderful streets and highways in KY. However, they do soak up those bumps very well.
I’ve been running the Falcon (Teraflex) 2.1’s for about a month now. Have them set on the performance setting, and the ride is wonderful. A lot firmer ride, which I prefer. I am also running the Teraflex 2.5” lift with them. Personally though, if I were running the Mopar lift, I would run the...
Falcon 2.1 Monotubes. Only had them and the lift on for 4 days, and haven’t had them off the pavement yet. So far, they are great on road. Have them set to the performance setting, and it’s noticeably stiffer than the stock Rubicon shocks. I personally like the feeling. Not near as much of a...
