I'll take my 13mpg on 39s I got today driving for the same amount of time, but covering 450+ miles. I'll pass on hypermiling in my Jeep averaging 41mph. Average speed for our road trip down to big bear...80.1mph. Time is money. I could spend 10+hrs getting here and have half as much time for wheeling, hanging out by the pool, strolling around the lake, etc and save some gas, but why? Time is our most precious commodity, fuel is cheap.

His trip wasn't even close to a full tank, barely more than a 1/4, so the whole thread is bunk. You could drive a 4xe with a full charge 26 miles and show a total fuel consumption of $1 or less and an average mpg of 200+.

Except for the fact that I never said you had to use a whole tank. Just that you had to provide proof of your MPGs that was calculable beyond what the dash told you.

I never said you had to use a whole tank, only said that you can't charge the vehicle multiple times while only counting one tank. One charge one tank, not rocket science here.

If you want a full tank, here's my first run from almost a year ago, with a total of 33.45 MPGs on a full tank with my EcoDiesel, pre-tune.

But then your 1 charge and any fraction of a tank gives the 4xe an easy win? Even if they drove 45 miles they'd average 45mpg without even trying. If they drive just 26-27 miles they'd have some astronomical mpg.

Best I could do is 28.8 with the 2.0L turbo this summer on our 3000 mile road trip to the Grand Canyon. Lots of cruise control at highway speed helped, I think. Since then, I've been getting 26 or so with my daily commute and I'm happy with that. So far, the Wrangler has been getting better mpg than the Renegade I traded in for it. I wasn't expecting that.
