I'm just glad you got the bright red covers. They'll pair nicely with the green Jeep. Not like those ugly black ARB covers.

You'll eventually have a hi-lift, a winch, and max trax? Some people might consider that excessive![]()

Hi-lift jack installed. This will be my permanent mount. That will probably purchase a better lock at some point.. bolt cutters could wipe this one out easy!
Install wasn't too bad, I was thinking it was going to take me 30 minutes max, even with the Chinese directions that were absolutely useless. Ended up taking me an hour because I had a few mishaps that were fully my fault, but realistically probably would have been solved if the directions were worth a dime.

Good thing I bought the 48-in instead of the 60-in from Harbor Freight. It just barely clears my garage door!
Jeep is all ready for tomorrow!
First two times I went to the OHV, I spent way too much time packing and brought way too much shit. It's just a day trip so I was able to pack the whole Jeep up in about 10 minutes, and only exactly what I need.
I do at some point need to get some Max track boards. I have some cheap Amazon knock off that's really made more for sand than it is for mud or dirt.. I'll have to keep an eye out on Facebook marketplace!
I think a lot of it depends on the terrain you're tackling. Hi-Lift jacks I see being very useful in the rocks, but between the short wheelbase on my two door and my winch, I haven't added one to my collection of gear just yet. They also seem to be one of those tools that when it's what you need, they're really the only tool for the job; however, you may or may not ever find yourself needing one. You'll eventually have a hi-lift, a winch, and max trax? I've used my winch (plus a big-ass bag of high-quality recovery ropes / gear...not cheap China shit) many times.
The Maxtrax boards on my roof look kind of cool, but I've never used them. In theory they'll be useful when there's no boulder or tree to strap onto or stacking rocks isn't an option.
Maybe it's just me, but it's hard to imagine a scenario where a hi-lift (beyond the other gear) would be necessary. Even the most hardcore people I've run with haven't had one. Well, hopefully you're aware of how deadly they can be.
I've that exact padlock on the fence's rear gate. With constant outdoor exposure, the rubber coating will eventually degrade (soften) and become sticky. You'll stain anything that your fingers touch after handling the lock.![]()

best of luck and come back whenever you want… you know where to find us!I just wanted to let everyone know if it's everyone here is so cool to me, that my Jeep is currently out of commission. I'm not going to go into too much detail as to what it is because I know everybody's going to want to put in their two cents and want to ask a lot of questions and right now I am 100% focused on getting my Jeep up and running, so I'll let you guys know it's definitely an electrical issue but beyond that I mean could be any number of 40 different things so until I get it to my house and can actually look at it I can give you guys an update but in general I'm probably just going to be AFK for the next couple weeks or maybe more and I'll let you guys know if my Jeep ends up going to the dealership..
But yeah I mean I was serious when I said I'm going to keep my Jeep for the rest of my life, ain't no issues no matter how serious you're going to scare me away. That being said like I said, I'm probably not going to be on here much and if I am it's going to be investigating possible options and trying to single out the actual cause of this.
So that being said y'all have a good one, and I'll see y'all on here at some point in the future.

it’s probably bc I grew with it (majority of cars run on diesel back home), but I love the agricultural sound of these engines!Best $1500 dollars ever spent!!!
Let me get my Jeep back, and give me a couple days to really enjoy it and appreciate everything the way it went, and then I'll tell you guys everything!!!
Get yourself a DVOM if you dont already have one and read on how to do a Parasitic Draw Test. If you have alot of stuff wired up it may be something you want to look into.So one thing at a time, I had a code thrown for low voltage, I've been having issues with my battery on and off for the last month, it was a optima dh7 yellow top, which I'm now starting to think might have been the main problem.
That being said the battery doesn't seem to be recharging itself at all times it fluctuates. So I've done a lot of little things with wiring that I don't think necessarily all have to do with it or maybe even none of them, but at this point because my Wrangler is my daily driver and I need it to be reliable I'm going to backwards engineer a lot of the stuff I have done namely the stuff I don't use. I got a little checklist for myself and everything starting with tonight when I get home.

There is another thing that happened but I'm not going to get into that right now, mostly because I don't see how it played a part into this, I think it was just shit timing.
My goal through all of this is that I can stabilize the battery, as it is a new battery in the engine, and if I can get it to hold a charge and numbers look good on the voltage meter on the dash, I'll be able to relax a little bit and move forward with some of my other mods that I have available at the house, namely my jk fog lights.
Also though it's not in the list my stage 1 tune on my tuned PCM has a security light, it's been that way since I had it tuned and until recently it hasn't become a concern. Part of what happened when my Wrangler died (I think, because at this point I don't really actually know anything I just know low voltage, but beyond that it's a guessing game right now to make sure it doesn't happen again) is my tuned PCM which already has the security light on, dumped my Wrangler into anti-theft mode. I don't really want to go back to my factory tune but as of right now it's the safe bet so that's probably what I'll end up doing.
So my goal for tonight is at the trickle charger, and try and revitalize my battery just to where I'm comfortable with it, and then I'll swap out the PCMs, and I might do a few other things. We'll see what kind of time I have when I get off of work.
So while poking around the internet, my favorite place to find detailed information about stuff I don't find on here, the ram forums, had my back.
At this point it looks like my battery isn't charging at all times, which is what this battery charging sensor does, it communicates with the PCM and tells it to activate alternator to charge up the battery, that's why our Wranglers have what they would call a smart alternator, it doesn't run at all times to save some gas, it just runs when the battery needs it.

According to the ram forums, when this part above goes bad it doesn't just go kablooey and it's dead, it starts working intermittently, which makes sense why I will start having battery issues a month ago and then my battery just goes to shit at the worst possible time.
I just ordered this guy off of RockAuto it should be here by Friday hopefully whether it's bad or not I'm going to swap it out and with all of the other things I'm doing that should be the number one fix. My dad's coming over Monday and he has a tester that we can run some tests on other parts like the alternator and the starter, but at this point the main issue seems to be the battery isn't getting the charging that it needs and this part right here is the number one culprit in those instances.
Before I get a plethora of fuse and canbus comments, my jeep was in anti-theft mode for sure, and I had a low voltage code which I could not wipe, I checked all the fuses, I checked the canbus, i replaced the battery, all the normal simple stuff that we all hear on here everyday.
I guess if you wanted to be frank, where I'm standing right now, it looks like it was a combination of this battery charging sensor, and a weakening battery, combined with anti-theft mode and a low voltage code that I couldn't clear. And then, just some absolutely fucking terrible timing!!
But again I'm still early in the process so we'll see what happens
