I'm just putting this out there. I bought my 2022 JLU Rubicon 392 used from a dealer. After 3 months I now have to pay Sirius XM (who I hate) money to access the old Mopar app and now the new Jeep App. That's complete BS in my opinion.

It's no different than GM vehicles and their app. You have to pay for an OnStar subscription to continue using remote/app features.

It is BS, but this is how some features are starting to go (subscription-based).

That said, I never really found the Onstar or Jeep apps useful, but YMMV

You have to pay to use the official Jeep app?

My regular Sirius/XM trial ended months ago, but the app still works. Haven't tried, but the only thing that shouldn't work on the app is the remote start, unlock and locate via the app, unless I have a non-music extended trial for those.

If so, that's just incredibly dumb, since the app can be used for other things outside of connected services (finding dealers, coupons, tracking service and oil changes).

So don't pay it. The app isn't that great and didn't provide much benefit so after the trial expired I was done with it and haven't even thought about.

To an earlier posters point this is no different than GM and OnStar. You have to pay monthly fees to access all the features OnStar provides

For GM it's called "Connected Vehicle Services". Those are, last I checked, $29.95/month. But the GM app works fine without the subscription. I use it to keep track of maintenance schedules and appointments. I assume the Jeep app is the same because my wife is still using it for the Wrangler.

FWIW, I don't pay for the app, you lose the ability to search and send a location to the factory navigation and you lose the ability to remote start via the app, though the remote start via the remote still works.
To me the price isn't worth it for those featuers.

I still get the monthly vehicle reports tho

XM sucks the sweat off a dead man’s balls. I’ll just leave it at that. ?
as for the app, never used it when I had it soooo, I guess I don’t need it.
Whats crazy is my 2020 Ford still has a fully functional app that doesn’t cost me anything. ? take notes Jeep.

Agreed, I let it expire also and installed a DIY alarm package with remote start and Linkr cellular connection. Still costs for the cell connection $40/year but I like the get an alarm anywhere, lock doors, remote start & GPS from most anywhere.

Isn't BMW doing this too now, for heated seats etc..? crazy as hell. I never needed a ball warmer... a ball cooler on the other hand, I may pay for.

Yep. My account was locked. I have to call and pay to get it started again.
Chevy discontinued my remote start by phone after 5 years of being free. I liked the jeep app to keep track of oil changes.
Use Spotify or Apple Music via CarPlay. XM and Sirius are going by the wayside.
use those to keep track of my maintenance?

I have monthly reminders on my phone calendar to check the mileage and associated maintenance milestones using mileage. It’s not as interactive as what you get from Jeep. I never really used the feature from Jeep to be honest
