Jeep remote services sucks bad. Or at least mine did. Took forever to start the engine if it ever did. Generally just used the fob to make sure.

Application on my samsung works fine otherwise for recalls etc etc.

Oh and Sirius XM is ridiculous to pay for radio. And everyone charges for remote services so that is all over scam

Isn't BMW doing this too now, for heated seats etc..? crazy as hell. I never needed a ball warmer... a ball cooler on the other hand, I may pay for.
Don’t forget they also sell a Subscription for more power on EV’s as I have read. Call BS on all vehicle options that now require a Subscription ?. On the last one, just Lease a provider when the comfort feature is wanted . ? Oops— a paid provider would warm, not cool.

I blame gaming companies for the subscription model becoming more and more popular across sectors ?

Pretty soon we'll be paying Freemium for things like additional ambient lighting colors, custom backgrounds, palettes and themes for those ever larger digital dashes, custom digital assistant voices to talk to us like Vin Diesel, Hatsune Miku, Batman or Krusty the Clown...

We'll see wonderful Freemium packages like 10 Freemium points for $39.99, 20 for $79.99 and 100 for $449.99 that SEEM like "deals" until you start doing the math...math? Who needs math...let's finance it all through subscription packages and mortgage length car loans...bundle everything. Win! ?

100% agree, and while I abhor monetization in games and subscriptions for unconnected vehicle features, I really wouldn't mind paying a few bucks for a new uConnect theme.

The 20 themes that are available really aren't too bad, but nothing really seems to match the orange and red accents of my dash all that well.

I'd really like to just have access to the files and skin a theme up myself, but I'm pretty sure everything's locked down. If Stellantis was actually thinking, they'd sell a basic app that would allow customers to select from the usual icon shapes and then select custom background and accent colors and upload a wallpaper or other background art. Imo, something like that should already exist and be free, but I bet a decent amount of CDJR owners wouldn't mind spending a few bucks on an app like that or a buck or two for an additional theme.

Use Spotify or Apple Music via CarPlay. XM and Sirius are going by the wayside.
Yup. XM quality is horrendous compared to carplay, especially if you have lossless audio enabled on your phone. It's a night and day difference, I can barely tolerate XM anymore. Even FM sounds better.

One of the main reasons why I'm really happy when I did my factory order the option to not install the Sirius XM equipment was available.

I've had Sirius XM before in previous vehicles, they are just like the radio. Even though they don't have ads, they still have breaks in between songs on most of their shows, and if you listen to one station long enough you hear the same songs every damn day. I'd rather have free radio and change the channel when the ads come on.

I've been saying this for a while, technology is bad in vehicles. I know a lot of y'all are really down with the ever-changing technological world that we live in, but technology is just control. Force you into stuff you don't want, because the masses are too dumb to think for themselves.

You got conned, do not ever trust a car salesman and do not ever give Sirius/XM your credit card number. Those are two absolutes in this community.

Jeep app continues to work just fine, without paying for SXM Guardian services, which is handled in the gawdawful Uconnect app that's not worth space on my phone. I don't pay for that service.
I do have SXM satellite radio service, because we take our Jeep to places where there's no cell service and we live in a rural area with patchy broadcast radio reception.

Stellantis/Chrysler really needs to do a better job of marketing these products (and making them worth paying for). I've seen a number of posts here and on FB that confuse the SiriusXM Satellite Radio service (music, news, and sports, worthwhile for some) with the SiriusXM Guardian/Uconnect service (crappy app, remote starts that take 5 minutes if they work at all, etc).

I'm just putting this out there. I bought my 2022 JLU Rubicon 392 used from a dealer. After 3 months I now have to pay Sirius XM (who I hate) money to access the old Mopar app and now the new Jeep App. That's complete BS in my opinion.
YEP!

I quit Sirrus years ago and have never looked back...

I do have 1157 songs on my i phone and Jeep has Apple car play...

While we're on this topic, the next version of Carplay is going to integrate entirely with the vehicle’s infotainment system. Not surprisingly, Jeep (or any Stellantis brand) is not on the list of first adopters. So, what will eventually happen, is that instead of Uconnect, the vehicle will be running on what is essentially a version of iOS. Note that this integration is not an update to iOS, but will only be available in new vehicles since it will essentially be the operating system of the entire vehicle. See link below:

New Apple Carplay

Overall, I think this is good news. Car manufacturers are not good at writing operating systems. Let the two big players in Google and Apple that have decades of experience in doing this take the lead. Whether this leads to more microtransactions, who knows. My guess is yes. Will we have to pay to use our headlights, no. Will we have to pay to have a special light sequence set to AC/DC (using an example here) upon start, probably.

BMW is the at the forefront of the SaaS car feature game. The whole thing is absurd.
