Panic button disable

hello. can anyone tell me a model situation using the panic button on the key? today I accidentally pressed it and the only panic was me, no one around. I didn't know what was happening, the car was honking open, closed, started, turned off, locked, unlocked, everything. it took maybe a minute until I found the key and pressed that stupid red button. is there a way to turn it off in the middle of the night? if that doesn't work I'll take the key apart and physically cut off the path on the dash towards the button. what on earth is that for?

If you are in a large very dark parking lot with a few scary looking bad guys approaching you that button can become a very welcome friend! (don't panic)

Like a rape whistle, at least you'll be a noisy victim I guess. I prefer to carry something that causes the perpetrator to panick but you do you.

I've never intentionally used the fob panic button, nor have I ever heard of any acquaintances using it. That said, I still like the idea of it.

After rolling over my fob in my tent at 2:00 AM in a crowded and peacefully sleeping campground and several other unintended panic deployments, I popped my key fob open and trimmed the rubber on the back of the button. You can still use it but it now takes a determined press of the button.

I assure you I am well prepared for this situation also. Even in CA.

A Tazer will disable it, likely J-scan. Mine was so touchy just bending over or anything else in my pocket would easily set it off. Annoying.

I had a neighbor at our old apartment who liked to let their dogs pee on people's tires. I may have "accidentally" leaned against a countertop while making dinner and set it off just as one of the dogs was setting up to pee.

it worked fantastic for that. Caused them and the dogs quite a panic.
