Well, just 30 minutes ago before even seeing this post, I solved a problem with my new fob. No panic button going off with mine, however unintended opening of the damn key while in my pocket has happened several times. Somehow the button that snaps open the key gets pushed.

So I just duct taped the damn key and problem solved.

That can be fixed by opening it up and loosening the spring.

I'm a long-time cyclist, and like to keep old tire inner tubes around for various reasons. I use a cross-section of an old tube, about an inch long, like a large rubber band around the fob for the Jeep. It mostly prevents the key from opening in my pocket, but also helps a little with the panic button.

I keep my fob in the watch/fob/coin pocket of my pants/shorts with the buttons facing toward my person - works extremely well for preventing accidental button push.

But I disabled the panic button with a Tazer anyway because I'm not in a demographic that might benefit from the feature.

Tazer mini is the best bet, I also sewed up a leather fob cover and only cut out the lock and remote start buttons.

I also recommend @mythreedom stuff. Just the smaller size fob makes it so worth it.
