The Jeep key fob, being the size of early-00’s flip phone, is really great at getting jammed against my other keys in my pocket and setting off the panic button. I’d prefer not to annoy the neighbors unintentionally.

Does anyone have any elegant solutions to prevent unintended button presses without adding even more bulk to the huge key fob?

If you don’t want the panic alarm to function at all.
Disable Factory Key Fob, Panic Button Hack...

To temporarily... to mechanically disable the Jl/JT factory fob panic button.....

Open up the fob and with a small tweezer, gently remove/pull the small black piece of rubber off of the circuit board contact associated with the panic alarm. That's it!

The small black piece of rubber is easily put back in place should you ever want to do so.

Excellent point. If you're in a situation where (for whatever reason) you need the panic button, then you're most likely too panicked to remember that the button is there.

Just leave the fob in the center console permanently. Problem solved.
😉👍
might get lucky and someone might actually steal it...my luck they would realize they made a mistake and they would return it before insurance paid it off....

Buy looser pants? 🙃
Or buy those keychains which hang outside your pants?

I disabled panic through the Tazer Mini(lots of reason to get a Tazer). I only had a few accidental panic activations but that was enough. I also clipped the catch part of the spring that flips the key out. I had more issues with the key button getting pressed causing the key to flip out, now it's a gravity flick to get it.

Yes! I disabled it and replaced the fob. Without a tazer I would have put glue in the buttons or something as there are few things I like less than features and this is clearly a feature.

I don't have keys attached to any of my fobs. I repurposed a leather belt holster for a Leatherman OHT that I used to use at work. It holds my Jeep fob just right, and my other key fobs a little looser- of course! :CWL:

While mine is a local, hand-made item, similar ones can be had from Etsy, with options for color, belt clips, AND size. Get it big enough for your Brick, and it'll probably hold anything!
