I’m not the one comparing buying a F150 to a JL or wrangler....nor did I even think a comparison would be in the deck of cards lol."
As some have pointed out changing steering/suspension parts with aftermarket doesn't necessarily fix the problem. My recommendation for "lax" FCA is to recall all Wranglers ever made and change them to IFS. Problem solved.
And many of the Jeep owners buy them to go off-road so why would someone bitching about possible problems buying a JL even consider an F-150. Seems like they should have just bought the Ford.
I agree about FCA needing to invest a lot to fix their steering issues immediately, I’m glad no one has been hurt or killed from the issues but it feels like their dragging their feet until something terrible happens to one of their customers and a spot light is placed on them. The JL was out for 5 months when I bought my Jk and test drove two JLURs and it was really nice compared to the JK but the price and known issues(the second JLUR did have wandering steering compared the first one)
The market Wrangler has is huge, others are making vehicles to finally compete ZR2/Ranger but in my eyes they are still trucks and won’t really touch the sales FCA gets from the Wrangler so comparing a fullsize truck no matter the brand to a Jeep wrangler is laughable.
IFS have hosts of other issues far greater than a solid axle, my god have you ever wheeled an IFS as hard as a solid axle? You’ll need shares in CV’s to make it worth it. Theres a reason solid axle swaps are on do to lists of anyone that has an IFS and doesn’t want headaches when going out to the boondocks far away from civilization.(have to justify the coin for that though)
