Good morning, I found a jewel of a road yesterday called OLD NC 105. I’ve lived in North Carolina all my life and never new this place existed lol. Absolutely stunning views the whole way. From Lineville Falls all the way to Lake James.

Nice find. That’s actually the first dirt road our Jeep was on. My wife would recommend the Linville Falls winery. Brown Mountain OHV park is about 20 miles southeast, to.

Looks fun. Is it just a gravel road or would you consider it off roading? I’m in a loaner Gladiator while my JULRD is getting the hinge corrosion fixed. The dealer said absolutely no off roading.

Sorry for delayed response this is where the black top ends and goes North all the way to Lineville Falls depending on which way you want to go

It's a great road with amazing Hikes down to the gorge and good places to camp. I suggest stopping at Wisemans Gap at the least: https://maps.app.goo.gl/CWJxRAYgT7MZwv4z7

Also a good place to get to the back side of Linville Falls if you dont want to deal with the Parkway traffic and parking.

Just be aware that locals tend to ride the road in the summer at faster speeds. There are some blind turns and hill crests that cause issues.

And the road can get pretty narly after a good set of strong storms or heavy winter melts. Most vehicles will be able to get through it with just a little clearance though. I've only seen it a few times where I had to have my wrangler to drive the whole way.

Did this trail today, all 14 miles of it. It was pretty cool, not difficult overall. There were a couple of narly obstacles I didn't get a chance to capture because manual + steep incline and paying attention. The neat part about this trail is there's alot to stop and check out. Very scenic.

Sped it up 4x and trimmed out the boring parts. Still ended up at 18 minutes lol.

Just did NC105. I should have aired down a bit. Only needed 4x4 on a few sections. Stopped along the way for the amazing views. The short hike to Wisemans Gap is definitely worth it. Overall great trail. Had to wait for a F150 4x4 to get pull off of this section. He should have just stayed on it but whatever.

The other trails leading down the valley to the river are amazing as well if you have the time.

That's a local treasure of an area. Hopefully people continue to use it with respect and it can be enjoyed for a long while yet.
