I've tried to use off road+ in 4 low many times. It makes the shift points much too aggressive for rock crawling.

Interesting. I don't actually use auto much. I prefer to manually control and it's a bit of a gas pig.I believe it does, however I can only speak clearly on 4H auto. I do use off road + while offroading in 4L but with the low gearing I don't think it is as noticeable.
Also, when it 4H auto when coming to a stop engine braking is more noticable.
I do not, just regular 4hi and 4lo.Do you have 4H auto? If I have it in 4H auto I notice my shift points are higher, shifts are quicker, and throttle response seems to be more responsive. That's on the road.
Yea that’s the procedure and it works for me. Although I do t know if it’s hood for 5 seconds or longer as I just hold it till my dash tells me traction control is off.Has anyone done the rear locker in 4-Hi recently?
I try to do it periodically but the last time I tried several times but traction control would never go fully disabled.
I believe the steps are 2-Hi --> 4-Hi --> press offroad+ --> Hold traction control 5 seconds --> engage rear locker
With a Tazer Mini you can engage the rear locker and disconnect the sway bar in 2H.Has anyone done the rear locker in 4-Hi recently?

I tried again yesterday and it worked. Thinking maybe it’s finicky if you’ve been in 4-hi for a while.Yea that’s the procedure and it works for me. Although I do t know if it’s hood for 5 seconds or longer as I just hold it till my dash tells me traction control is off.
It is an off road sport mode for desert and dunes. When I go into off road plus mode when In 4hi part time or 4 low, the engine constantly revs high. It doesn’t feel or sound like it’s a good thing to do. I’ve found it annoying and usually end up switching out of it when off road. Trying to understand its usefulness when off road, or if something is wrong.
It feels and sounds like a sport mode when pressed in 4hi auto on road.
Sand, my friend. Sand. That's where it's useful. In 4Hi with Offroad-plus engaged, the throttle response is super-high-strung, which is super useful climbing sand hills in deep soft sand. There's a sand obstacle on Poison Spider that kicked my ass the first time I saw it, when I didn't have offroad-plus. Then I went back in a different Jeep WITH it, and used it, and that hill was nothing. I utterly slayed it with those revs ripping, and it was glorious. When I go into off road plus mode when In 4hi part time or 4 low, the engine constantly revs high. Thanks for mentioning that sand on Poison Spider. You made me realize that the first time I did it a couple years ago it was intimidating, but hell, I didn't even notice it the last two times (once in the backwards direction and once in the usual). Kind of weird. Maybe that's due to playing on the Oregon dunes so much?Sand, my friend. Sand. That's where it's useful. That's not how I read the manual. Why would you want quicker throttle response in 4lo?Off road + is for quicker throttle response in both 4Hi and 4Lo.

Engine/Transmission Calibration: Rock Crawl and controllability focus, change in shifting schedule when rock crawling, pedal calibration shifted to de-gain and low range, operates at lower vehicle speeds
Traction Control: Aggressive brake lock differential tuning at slower speed or FIRST gear
Off Road+: Recall the last status between ignition cycles
4H
Engine/Transmission Calibration: Improved sand performance/wheel slip focus, change in shift schedule for sport mode, pedal calibration set to aggressive, operates at elevated vehicle speeds
Traction Control: High wheel speed, slip tuning brake lock differential with no engine management
Electronic Stability Control: ESC Off with unlimited speed
Off Road+: Will default to OFF between ignition cycles
