The other day, I was driving around in the Smoky Mountain NP during the snow. Due to the weather and the park opening late, I was the only person around for miles. I found out later a tree had fallen across the road and blocked the entrance so that explained the lack of people. Back to topic, I had pulled over, turned the Jeep off and back to Accessory mode, and was playing around with the Off Road pages. When I got to the temps, I was shocked and a bit concerned considering where I was, temps were falling through the 20s into the teens and no one else was around. I immediately scanned the dash for CELs and checked under the hood to see if something was boiling over, steaming, or burning. Nothing seemed wrong. Then I started it back up and temps immediately went back to normal. It seems like there may be a flaw in the programming and now that I understand it is a faulty reading in ACC mode, I am not worried about it. Just curious if anyone else has seen this.

Next time, wrap a steak in tin foil and cook it while waiting... ;) Guessing this is simply a glitch, or Jeep is messing with us to see if we're paying attention!

Of course, there's also the fact that Jeep vehicles rank near the bottom of the 10 least reliable vehicles this year...sadly, maybe we should expect this? Or...let's just call it "personality"? ;)

Mine does the opposite, it blanks out (shows dashes) and no numbers. It did not do that until recently, I noticed it driving down a large mountain with a lot of switchbacks. Oil pressure, trans temp, and coolant temp all do it. My dash screen does not seem to do the same thing, so I assume it's just a glitch. I am going to have it checked out with my first oil change as there are now a few things I am seeing now.

1. Off-road pages gauges glitch.
2. volume knob and buttons stop working, must change input to get it to work again.
3. Engine knocks for about 20min when engine is cold. (This is new, oil level is correct. I assume it's just from oil weight, and I don't notice as we don't really get cold here where I live)
4. My rear glass defroster came undone after using it for a while. Seems like the solder itself heated up and released.

I'm not surprised, they can't get ambient air temp right. Whatever I start a trail ride at is the temp ALL day, until I hit the highway again. After all, devices to measure the outdoor air temp are incredibly new technology....no, wait..

And I thought mine ran warm. LOL! I was up near mammoth lakes early December climbing the grade, and I was impressed in 28 degree weather coolant temp rose to 230 and oil to 240. For whatever reason normal or not, my jeep likes to sit in the 210-225 degree range even if the ambient temps are 50-70 out. I'll find out what it will really do this year in the desert. Regardless, I haven't been the least bit impressed with the digital gauges in the JL.

I've noticed coolant temps fluctuate 20-30 degrees or so during normal driving on the offroad pages but the gauge on info center between the speedo and tach on the dash never moves (aside from during warm up). Make me wonder if it would if the engine got over normal temps and whether I can trust it. I've never had any of the issues the OP described though, temps in the offroad page have always been "normal" if you will. 2020 JLU Rubi.

Well, at least you've got a reading! Back in September my display would randomly drop a gage reading. Never the same gage twice. Lasted for two days and then the malfunction disappeared. My front door "touch" locks stopped working for a couple of days about nine months ago. The rear gate worked okay, just the doors refused to open. After the two days were up, they started working and haven't failed since then. I think there is a Gremlin working on the Wrangler line ... he's inserting little hints of his existence just to add character to each of our Jeeps.

We're sorry to hear about this, J. When you do have the opportunity to visit your dealer, please send us a PM. We would be happy to connect you with a Case Specialist to assist.

I checked mine today in accessory mode (like in original post) and it was all dashes... no weird temps or anything.
