Welcome to the future. You own nothing. All you have is what is granted to you by an ethereal ULA and terms of service that are almost impossible to understand and can change without notice. Features and options in your vehicle can be added or deleted at a moments notice. No one on the sellers side can explain themto you because they are all controlled by some third party.

I’ve kinda gotten used to XM radio again, but that’s a scam too. Your special deal subscription expires and they raise the fee to some ridiculous price. So you cancel, and the bug you incessantly until they finally offer you some special price to re sign

I don’t really care about ORP. Didn’t know they existed till I saw them in this forum. But if I had bought my Jeep expecting to have them, spent months trying to get them working and then after all that finding out you need some stupid subscription service just to get access to a different GUI, I’d be pissed.

Class action suit anyone?
I'm not pissed. Irritated would be the worst it would get. Still, after going through the headache of getting them, I'd better have them for at least a year, even though I think they should be permanent. They have nothing to do with Guardian services. They are an instrumentation feature. Oh well. I love the Jeep enough to put up with these small irritations.

Travel link and traffic you get free for 5 years. SiriusXM radio and Guardian services are only free for 1 year. Do you have the uConnect app on your phone? If you do does the remote features like start, lock, and unlock still appear on it and work? When I launch the app now all I get is the vehicle info screen. The screen with the remote functions is gone.
I'll have to try it when I get a chance. I can't remember if I deleted the app, or not.

Sure, but taken to the absurd, it could turn out the lockers or sway bar disconnect also required a subscription.

I love my Jeep too just venting

Update...The app appears to be working. It will be interesting to see how long they let me have this. They may have quietly re-upped it when my ORP update was pushed by the dealer. We'll see. I really don't use this app or Guardian. Maybe in a wreck it might be nice, but I just can't see it for the money they want. It needs to do more, for that price.

Does it work like Onstar where if you wreck and airbags deploy, your Jeep/phone notifies Guardian? Maybe I just need to dig into the features to see how it really works. It absolutely stinks that the ORP might be connected to this.

Ok, yeah, that would raise it to pissed, but I won't be buying another for at least 10 years, unless I wreck this one. (God forbid.)

I had the dealer follow the TSB 1/28/19 to update my uConnect to add the ORP. They worked great until this Monday, the day after my 1 year free trial in the SiriusXM Guardian services expired. I contacted uConnect customer care asking if you have to have Guardian services to have the ORP. Here is the reply I received.

Thank you for contacting Customer Care.

We are disappointed to learn of your concern with the Off Road Pages regarding your Wrangler Unlimited and I would like to assure you that I will do everything I can to assist you.

I have looked into the Off Road Pages further and have determined you are correct, you do need an active subscription with Sirius Guardian in order to be able to utilize that feature.
If you would like to resubscribe to Sirius Guardian you can do so by calling them at 844-796-4827.

Thank you again for your email Gregory. Have a great day.

Best wishes,
Jocelyn

Hi Greg H,

As discussed on the other thread, this information is incorrect. You do not need an active SiriusXM subscription for Off-Road Pages. As I expressed before, the message you provided has been passed internally for the representative to be corrected.

As you know, we are actively investigating your concern in private messages to have your Off-Road Pages restored. We would appreciate if you would continue working with us there. This thread is creating confusion among Jeep owners.

I've worked with jeepcare thru PMs. They have investigated this and said I shouldn't have lost the ORP. uConnect is going to try an OTA to add them back on.

Hi Darlene

With all due respect, a lack of clarity from FCA as to why ORP do not work is the problem. Additionally, it’s not a subscription to SXM we’re taking about, it is a subscription to Guardian Services that is the alleged culprit. I believe they are separate entities. If you could point the forum to the actual terms of service and features of Guardian, that would really help as one would assume it would or would not address Off Road Pages.

@Jondrew

The connected services in question are called SiriusXM Guardian. There is no difference between SiriusXM Guardian and "Guardian services." For reference, you can visit our official Uconnect website, which gives you a break down of the features of SiriusXM Guardian. You will notice that Jeep Off-Road Pages is not included: https://www.driveuconnect.com/sirius-xm-guardian.html

Darlene @JeepCares came thru. She investigated the issue and said the rep in Customer care gave me bad info in the email I received and I shouldn't have lost the Off Road Pages. They were able to do an over the air update to give me back the Off Road Pages. I didn't have them when I got off work but they were back when we left home to go out for dinner tonight. She didn't say why I lost them the day after my SiriusXM Guardian Service free trial ended.

Your Lockers & Sway Bar buttons will function for up to 24 months (trial period).

After that, you will have to call Mohammed Al Sharkiwi with Directv and re-subscribe to Sunday NFL ticket.

Apparently your Lockers/Sway Bar buttons are linked to Directv’s Sunday NFL ticket subscription.
