My new Jeep is (fingers crossed) to arrive next week, and I’ve got a simple question that will help me plan ahead. My elderly mother who I’ll be taxiing around in the near future has some lung issues and is sensitive to strong smells.

Can you share your experiences with the new car smell (especially those sensitive to smells)? How bad is it on day 1 arrival? How long before it’s not noticeable?

good one, didn't even think about the hard top, and maybe even the liners since its some for of adhesive use to mount those, and he warm temps in my area 90 degrees yesterday seems to magnify that new car. smell...

It is very strong on a hot day when it has been sitting in the sun for a while. A few minutes of circulating air either clears it out or I get used to it. Someone with health problems may be uncomfortable in it.

Do they sell new car smell in a bottle?

Went to car wash before I got jlur and one of the scents was new car so I picked it. So glad it came in packet form because it smelled nothing like a new car but was rather horrible smelling

Be nice if the car washes or places that sell the little thing air freshers that say new car smell really made it smell like new car smell. i havent seen anything you can spray in there to make it smell like it did when you first got it

I love new car smell. BUT if someone doesn't, you can just go through McDonald's and leave that nasty food in there for a couple hours. That smell stays longer than the new car smell, I think.
