So you basically set alerts? I know stop losses only work during regular Market hours 9:30 to 4:00.
I do use price Alerts as early warnings, and I also set Sell orders to engage when Price -X occurs.

The Alerts give me the heads-up to sell manually, and proactively, if the trend bothers me. And so the automatic Sell order is usually just redundant back-up that isn't always triggered.

Hmmm.. Well. What's the Point of your Channel... I mean I think that more people will relate to you wrenching on a regular Jeep, VS the 392 of which there are not that many.

I mean.. What makes you think the 392 will help your channel?

Not sure that helps.. But I don't see the 392 angle what makes your YT Channel a success. It's good content that will make it a success..

Personally, If in your shoes.... From what little I know of your shoes.. I would be very tempted to use the "excuses" you have provided to justify the 392.

Also.. I don't think when you look back on life, you will regret the 392 or see it's purchase that set your like into a downward spiral...

You will be OK either way.
My channel is not going to be a wrenching channel. Hard to explain without giving it away but the 392 would be like sort of a character vehicle. Like think of every movie where the main person or team had a vehicle that everyone thought was cool. Like the A Teams van or Doms Charger in the Fast and Furious ect.. For this reason I think the 392 would make a big difference.

I think people are thinking this is mainly a Jeep channel. My second channel I'm thinking of doing will be. But this main one I'm talking about is more adventure mystery with twist.

Not getting personal but your age, your daughters age and nest egg should be considered. A younger person can afford to take more risk because they have more time to recover if a investment does not work out. Retirement age or near retirement age people should not be taking as much risk. Don't know how old your daughter is but time and compounded interest are powerful tools. It's a very powerful tool for a teenager. That $70K or so can grow to be quite substantial even if invested in conservative funds if you have the time. Not too much stress if you invest in the S&P or something.

You sound like you have justified the 392 by creating content for your channel. Make a comprehensive business plan. Make it a real business and hopefully you can write off some of your expenses. What type of content are you and your daughter planning on doing? Something like Kevin and Britney's Lite Brite channel?
Definitely not going to be anything like Kevin and Britneys channel. Totally different. It's so hard to explain without giving it away. I want to keep it a secret until I release it. I'm 40 and my daughter is 11. I wouldn't say I'm old but definitely not young either. Lol..

The $70K is not an issue if you have a healthy retirement and education fund already.

$70K x 30 years @7% =$532,858. That's a average, there is inflation, and anything can happen but we get the idea.

You and your daughter are young. Time is on your side, her side, for investing early. Maybe use a portion of the $70K to buy a base WILLYS and invest the rest. I would not even pay cash. Interest rates are still very low. I think around 2%-3% for a new car. Invest your $70K and hope to make more than 2%-3% on it.

Put off buying the 392. I have. I could swing getting one, but the longer I put it off, the more I decided I really didnt need one, or want one anymore. sue it would be fun, at first, but with all new toys, the novelty wears off soon enough. Me, I would probably enjoy a less complicated TJ, with a Hemi swapped into it, and a more bullet proof tranny/axle setup.

Jeep is still offering 0% for 36 months, not financing is throwing money away.

Sounds like you keep trying to justify your purchase with a YouTube channel that odds are won't make any actual financial impact in your life. A very small percentage of YouTube channels make a revenue stream worthwhile for all of the effort to put out quality content.
Why not put some effort into the YouTube channel and see where it goes from there? I don't see a 392 Wrangler making that much of a difference as there's already YouTubers out there with the 392 Wrangler and most aren't making a living off of it.

I originally hit reply to say I think you're seriously overestimating how much cooler a 392 seems than a 2 door Rubicon or another Jeep, relatively speaking...

...but part of me is starting to think you're actually a marketer and this dilemma money thing is all a ploy, and you're just drumming up interest for this secret channel...I'm not a big YouTube guy, but even I wanna watch to find out what in the world it's going be now lol

You should have posted this in the 392 forum. You would have gotten far more: “go for it”; “you only live once”; “can’t take it with you”; “just finance it for 72 months” and similar responses that you are most certainly looking for. I wish you luck in your endeavors.

Sounds like a bigfoot hunter channel. Good luck.

IMO, you would connect with more people on your Youtube channel if you have something in common with them, and a 392 is not that common.

Your entertainment choices are solely based on being relatable? We should get them to remake game of thrones with Hondas instead of dragons, ratings would be through the roof.

We are talking about youtube channels.

Viewer retention typically is linked to interest and relatability, especially on Youtube. If you can't relate to or have an interest in a channel, you typically won't keep going back, unless they are doing something unique and entertaining.

That could be the host is very entertaining, or they do something unique and different each episode. There's a lot of exotic cars channels, I've viewed an episode here or there, but I don't subscribe or return because I can't relate to it.

But then there is a whole society of people who have kept Dancing with e stars american idol and the voice on the the air for a decade or more, so it wouldn't surprise me if a channel of some guy taking his morning dump didn't draw 10m subscribers.

For sure, I find most videos are more entertaining when it's something that you feel you can actually do yourself. Can't tell you how many woodworking videos I watch where it should be a simple job (like a cutting board), but the guy pulls out a $10k CNC machine and $5k planer. At that point they are just showing off, and it'd be cooler to see it done with something we all can do without throwing a boatload of money at it.

Something like an Off-roading for Mere Mortals channel would be super cool

Yeah I was going to mention that myself. People who actually own one would be much better advice. Or at least enthusiastic!

When I want financial advice I generally don't get it on the Wrangler Forum.
