So I finally got myself a Jeep about about 30 years of wanting one. For me with 2 younger kids in travel sports they prevent us from taking too many vacations throughout the year this was definitely a toy to enjoy together. I think someone named made the comment it’s like a “family motorcycle” and that fits perfectly.

I don’t have a very far commute to work but the former MPG always made me leery of getting a Jeep.

Now that I had a bunch of highway driving and around town driving on my
JLU 3.6 I have been very happy with MPG. Getting 24.5 on the expressway and nearly 21.8 around town.

I’m not one to every see myself putting anything more aggressive than the all-terrain tires it came with and likely just will replace with all-season when they go. I’ll be fairly OEM and no lift kits so hopefully this mileage sticks.

Link below on all my gas stops. Really pleased. Mine is about 30% city driving and I leave ESS on, despite all the whining you'll read here.

I took this yesterday after I got to my destination, first long trip I took it on. I was really impressed as well! My normal daily commute i average around 20, still impressive for a box on wheels!

I just took a 1600 mile vacation that was 400 miles each way highway at 75-85mph, and 800 miles in the mountains, literally steep gravel roads, switchbacks, 4000’ elevation changes all day long. Averaged 23mpg. I’m shocked and impressed.

Took a 1000 mile road trip... weighted down Rubicon Unlimted. 100 miles of it over landing much of it in 4H on rough cobble / boulder roads On the Hwy I drove 70-75... Average MPG was 21. I only have 2100 miles on the Jeep

Pictures are worth a thousand potential deceits. I can make mine show 40, 50, 60. Just reset while letting off the gas at 75 mph and take a pic. Not saying you did it just saying it can be done.

Picked up our Sahara last week, avg 22.8 over first 325 miles, driving back rodes and in town errands with very little highway and got stuck in some stop/go traffic for 20 minutes. So impressed so far.

These 25+ mpg are sketchy lol if it's true, kudos to yall but in my case I average about 19 city and 22 hwy...light foot.....this is per my calculations since I have 33s on my JLUS and havent calibrated. LA traffic so yeah. Most long trips include a lot of lengthy uphill hwys so that lowers my mpg on long trips but if I drive for about 80 miles on somewhat level roads....it does get 23 mpg at around 72-75 mph....regardless, it's way more than I was expecting from a Jeep :)

Some I am sure are rigged, but if you go to cleanmpg.com they can teach you 10 tips to beat the epa rating. For example I’m averaging 51.8 on my Prius C combined on the last 8k miles and that is 50% of the time towing a trailer. So it can be done, I’m hoping with the good habits I have from the Prius I can average near 28-30. I should receive my JLR either today or the next two days, but definitely by Thursday at the latest! Yeah!!

I live in KY, so every road here has hills and curves.

With the lift kit and big tires, I'm seeing 19 MPG currently on this tank, and average about 18.5 MPG overall (logged with fuelly.com). This is a mix of city/highway on my weekly commute.

With the stock tires and stock suspension I was seeing low 20s on every tank.

Compared to my old 3.6L JKU, my 3.6L JLU is averaging about 2 MPGs better. So, to me I can see the fuel savings that FCA squeezed out of this thing. It's fantastic!

My Nissan Frontier CC 4x4 would average about 16. My buddies with Tacomas see about 16-17. The Jeep Wrangler smokes those numbers. I've never understood why people refer to the Jeep as a fuel thirsty vehicle. I've owned 3 four-door Wranglers and all of them have been spectacular at the fuel pump, but this JL is amazing.

I had over 150 miles on that tank of gas, and I had reset nothing... I just thought it was funny, so I took a picture. But thanks, super sleuth.

I do a mix of city 75% and 25% highway. I drive like an old man and can't seem to squeeze any more than an average of 18.5 during a tank. Jealous of these 23+ mpgs I'm hearing about.
