  1. One Confusing part of the Rubicon vs. Sahara question.

Not to say the LSD is good or bad, I will attest that I don’t one that didn’t have it and had no issues in the snow here in Chicago this winter. So if anyone is on the fence or finds a unit on the lot that doesn’t have it I wouldn’t lose too much sleep about it.
  2. One Confusing part of the Rubicon vs. Sahara question.

We got the Sahara, rather than the rubicon. We are a soccer and sports family and our Jeep is a daily driver that we love tossing equipment in and out off. The dual top was the biggest draw to us and having the top down in our “family sports convertible” in the summer our fav. No need to...
  3. Under body rust

Does anyone have experience with their new JL (after 7k miles) showing signs of underbody rust? Looks like this may have been a scrap from road hazard but still surprised to see it. Should I worry? Anything to do for it?
  4. Audio system issue - cutting in and out

Does your audio not work at all? Mine only has the “on off bug” about 5% of the time.
  5. Audio system issue - cutting in and out

Just an update. The dealer had my car for a week, didn’t mind since I got a loaner for them so a week without mileage on my JL is good. They were able to replicate the problem and Jeep informed them they are working on a software fix. Hopefully, it comes eventually but nothing they can do now.
  6. Audio cutting in and out

I finally took my JL into the dealership and they were able to reproduce the issue and called Jeep. So after 5 days with a little Renegade loaner they told me Jeep is aware and likely will be a software fix in the future. Sorry.. I did like not having to put miles on my car for a week but...
  7. IF you were buying a new JL and all of the engines were available which one would you get? Why?

Honestly, if the battery didn’t take up cargo space I would pick the hybrid. I’m not a super off-roader and for us the JL is a capable and fun family “sports car”. Meaning it’s fun to go topless while hauling sporting equipment. It’s been our favorite car ever and if I could get 50 mpg or...
  8. Audio cutting in and out

Same issue again. No remote start this time, just a cold day after work. Appointment at dealer dec 8th.
  9. Audio cutting in and out

I posted another thread about this. Please post if you have this issue as it would be helpful for Jeep to know. Seems in my Jeep, it’s related to remote start (likely remote start when it’s cold). Hopefully, it’s just a software update. Listening to music from my iPhone rather than my...
  10. Audio system issue - cutting in and out

Well I see I’m not the only one. I just came back to this board to update that it happened again for the past two days and it does seem to be related to the remote start. Not cool for cold northern chicago. I’ll call the dealer and see if they can do anything but this seems to be an update...
  11. Jeep wave oil changes

So my free oil changes aren’t showing up in Jeepwave and it’s been almost 3 months. I would like to get an oil change, can any Jeep dealer look this up or do I need to call Jeep wave first?
  12. Audio system issue - cutting in and out

Same with me. After work problem was resolved. These electronics are a bit sensitive.
  13. Audio system issue - cutting in and out

So today on my way to work my entire audio system was cutting in and out. The audio would play for 2 secs and then cut off for about 1/2 of a sec and cycle over and over. Didn’t matter if it was XM, AM, FM, or using Spotify on CarPlay. Not sure if this has anything to do with it but last...
  14. Sad day, hardtop back on

I’m in northern Chicago burbs as well and made the switch back to the hard top yesterday. I miss the softtop already but at least it’s taken care of now until spring. Getting the softtop off the brackets was a bit tricky but it came out eventually. My one mistake is I tossed out the softtop...
  15. Surprise findings on my JL

As a first time Jeep Wrangler owner I have really enjoyed our new JLU Sahara and it’s so fun to ride around with the top down with the kids waving their hands around. Glad I made the purchase as it’s the most fun we ever have had in a car. Things I have found and appreciate: storage under...
  16. Tires and rotation

im new to owning a wrangler and having a full size spare tire on the back. Do most of you rotate it in with the 4 on the Jeep? We have the stock AT that came with the upgraded wheels and they seem great on the road, anyone have any idea how long the tread should last? What is the length of...
  17. ESS - The data behind fuel consumption (really interesting video)

I’m new to a car with a ESS. It was weird for about a day, now I don’t notice it and I appreciate saving some gas. Win for me. I’m sure I waste a bit of gas with my soft top in Sunrider position so I’ll take any savings I can get to help offset it. Way to go Jeep.
  18. The new soft top.....what were they thinking?

What’s the best way to clean your premium soft top? I’m afraid to take it through a car wash. But wasn’t sure if I can just wash it at home with normal car wash soap.
  19. Performance in winter, no lsd

Thanks all. The Jeep I purchased had the upgraded wheels that came with the AT tires. I’m pretty sure that it will perform well in the snow and if need be, I’ll put her in 4H. But as someone added, I suppose I could always add a LSD in the future, but I’m not likely one that will be upgrading...
  20. Performance in winter, no lsd

So our family is really enjoying our first Jeep and while it’s likely not going to be off-road much at all, except an occassial camp ground that can be navigated just fine by our minivan, are biggest test will be the winter. We didn’t get the LSD on our unit because the the dual top and LED...
