My 392 XR came with the Mopar Performance spare tire reinforcement and 35s from the factory. I very lightly scuffed the bottom of the spare tire on a ledge. I was just barely moving as I crept off the ledge and wondered if I had touched the spare tire. It was such a light touch that I wasn't even sure it had happened. So I got out and looked at the bottom of the spare tire and there was a tiny little scuff mark on it. Well, that tiny little barely noticeable scuff on a ledge bent my tailgate. I couldn't believe it. It seemed like the Mopar Performance spare tire reinforcement was about as strong as tissue paper.another data point: i ran the Mopar Performance spare tire reinforcement with 35s and 37s and my tailgate is definitely twisted.
I replaced it with a CavFab spare tire carrier and tailgate reinforcement. The difference in beefiness was like night and day. And the CavFab tailgate reinforcement was stout enough that when I tightened down the bolts to the tailgate it pulled the tailgate straight again.
