So, the mod that prompted this thread was the...

Hooke Road Rear Trunk Cargo Rack Basket Tray Interior Storage Luggage Carrier for 2007-2024 Jeep Wrangler JK JL Unlimited 4-Door Hardtops

I am single. My best friend is a 90lb Belgian Malinois mix that is a handful. He needs a mission and a project at all times. Naturally, he rides with me as much as possible. I currently have him in the rear seat area.

So, my cargo capacity is limited to the cargo area. I saw the Hooke cargo rack and thought it would be a great solution by letting me stack gear on top of the rack.

But, now that I have sobered up and considered reality, it seems that with that rack installed, I could not haul anything tall in the back, nor could I put my dog in the cargo area and fold the back seats into place if I needed to haul more than one passenger.

I think the product is good quality and is perfect for storing more gear in a specific overlanding application.

But for daily real world usage, I think it might not be great since it restricts the height of items that can be hauled in the back.
That is a really nice looking rack, but yeah, you gotta have room for your pooch back there.

If I didn't drink, I'm pretty sure my Jeep would still be stock.. or I might not even have one!

Best $60 I ever spent!

I'll drive to work with them tomorrow, but after that I'm going to have to take them off so that I can do something that's a little more secured. I don't want to lose these things on the highway, have to spend another $60 to get another pair.

Kind of makes me wish I still had 35s on there, I feel like they're going to be dragging on the ground every bump I hit.

Maybe this is the reason to buy 37s! 🤔

I think that little skeleton would look cool behind the cage. Hanging on for dear life. Face pressed against the bars.

You're concerned more about $60 than your absolutely incognito Jeep somehow being identified as the culprit in taking out the vehicles behind you? Sorry, but you might be giving your Texas State Troopers a reason to pull you over.

Okay, I'll share. Not long after I got the Jeep, I ordered a set of black plastic lug nut covers to turn my chrome lug nuts to black. When they arrived and I was a little more sober, I realized what a pain in the ass these would be to try to remove on a cold winter day if I ever had a flat tire that needed to be changed. Seemed like a (drunken) good idea at the time, though... :)
