Absolutely love my JLUR 6 speed manual but wondering if anyone else is having issues with low rpm pinging? If I'm coasting to a stop w clutch engaged or trans in neutral rpm will drop far below normal idle and engine pings intermitently. If ac is on it happens more frequently. Dealer says it's functioning as designed. Definitely doesn't feel or sound normal to me.

Wouldn't trade my Jeep for any other new vehicle on the road but I just hope my 700 mile Jeep doesn't have more significant problems in the near future.

Seems to be a concern popping up lately, I have the same issue as others have also had concerns with. Search post for rattle noise on acceleration, my dealer still can’t figure it out. I’ve been using premium and still hear it, so???

You might try TSB 18-041-18 Rev B / October 16 2018. It mentions different symptom fixes for the auto vs manual, but it wouldn't hurt to try it. This TSB also fixes the loud fan, so worth your time to try it. Mine sometimes sounded like low quality fuel pinging, then it went away after the TSB. But I have an automatic.

mine drops a little below normal rpm, but what is worse, is it sounds like extremely cheap, noisy mud tires when I have the clutch in or in neutral and coasting to a stop. and it is getting worse. I have an appt next week to check it out.

Why are you guys coasting to a stop in neutral? Engine braking/loading is actually much better for your engine than idling with no load.

I don't every time. But, at lower speeds I do on occasion. I hear my noise every time I engage the clutch to shift up or down...not just coasting to a stop.

Sounds like it might be a clutch/throwout bearing issue.

10k miles here, done it since day 1. Dealer says it’s normal. I still don’t like it, so I’ve learned how to mostly prevent it. It has to do with deceleration in second or third gear, and followed by pressing the clutch. So if I blip the throttle after pressing the clutch, it won’t do it. Or if I keep it in gear and don’t press the clutch until I feel the “lurch” of the driveline going slack when coming to a stop it won’t do it. Chalking this one up to it being different.
