Nah they are just as reliable as anything else out there as far as I am concerned.

I have had Wranglers or CJs for a long time. They just are not what some people expect when they buy them. So some families thinking they want a Wrangler is really not what they are expecting. But do check carfax.
Except for the paint

I am looking for a Wrangler Rubicon and have noticed a tremendous number of low mileage pre-owned on dealer lots. What's up with this?

Agree with previous posts about the economy, especially the car market and the interest rates also the high number of repos recently and Dealerships not willing to to take a loss on their trade ins....

I traded in my 2020 2Dr Rubicon w/ 24k (2 months left on orig warranty) miles and not a scratch or mark on it and it sat on the Dealers lot for 10 months at $41k and they refused to lower the price, they let it bounce between 41k and 43k for 10 months and finally dropped it to 40k before it sold and had to take a loss on it

It’s possible that with high trade in values, that people are selling for a profit or break even to upgrade or move on to something else.
My ‘21 is still netting close to what I paid for it 3 years ago.

the economy is bad.
Might be a lot of lease return rental stuff some of the big lease companies are fonally turning over some invetory they couldn't get before. Have seen a big increase at the dealer auctions of this type of inventory over the last 90+ days

This idea that ordering a new Wrangler is cheaper than buying it used ceased to be true with Jeep’s idiotic pricing.

Around here I can buy a two year old Rubicon with less than 15,000 miles for $15,000 less than the price of a new one.

It’s been like this for the last eighteen months or so.

and . . . . . don't forget that "Pre-Owned" often means "Oh-Pee-Jay" (Other People's Junk). Buy new.

Lease turn-ins, as mentioned, as well as the honeymoon for some coming to an end.

For years, we purchased only Certified Used vehicles (in most instances, Hondas) that each had just a one-owner lease history. The ownership experience has in all cases been very good, so shop carefully and you may find a good deal that doesn't otherwise jump out at you.

I have a really not amazing build, but Heated Seats, Remote Start, LED...were non negotiable and didn't need frivolous costly extras to that.
That's right. Three frivolous extras were quite enough.

Some dealers put a W in front of their sales number for a used vehicle. Typically it means warranty return. A vehicles history is easily vetted.

The honeymoon phase can end quickly for some people that romanticize having a wrangler. It’s no Cadillac. As said above, check carfax, test drive, bring it to a mechanic on your trial period or even during test drive, and compare the used price versus a new wrangler with current incentives. For what you’re paying used, you might be able to swing a new one. ?
This. Jeeps are not for everybody. They ride like crap, are crude, get lousy fuel economy, are expensive to insure, and have build quality issues. Many folks are re caught by the “lifestyle” thing , buy a Jeep and then find out they do not like “living” with one. If you off road/like to explore/hunt/fish they’re great. If it’s a replacement for your BMW, Audi, or similar you’re likely to be an unhappy camper. If your new to Jeeps, do yourself a huge favor and rent one. Drive it a week and see if it fits YOUR life. If it does, welcome aboard, if it doesn’t you just scared yourself a very expensive and unhappy experience. You can thank me later..

I have occasionally wondered how many folks have mistakenly thought that life was just like the Facebook or Instagram posts that enticed them to purchase the Wrangler seen in the online photos.

Interest rates are high, that is true, but unemployment is low and job growth is robust, not sure that equals the economy is bad

If you're considering buying a relatively new / expensive Wrangler then also consider ordering exactly what you want new for possibly less money by looking at the spreadsheet in my sig.
That's why I ended buying new. Used Jeeps I was looking at were only like $4K - $6 less from buying brand new, full warranty, zero miles, zero rust, a no brainer!

I think it's possible, some people are buying an expensive vehicle they probably shouldn't be buying financially. 7-year loan, after a few years or so they are tired of making the payment plus interest.
