I did watch a youtube video of a guy installing the mopar lift kit himself and he did mention to get new front spring pad, new track bars and he recommends a new steering stabilizer as well. I do like the fact mopar is all covered under warranty and engineered by jeep, but at the same time other 3rd party options have had a year to release lift kits as well.

Ya I want to install the lift myself and save me the money that could go towards other mods. It doesn't seem to difficult with the right tools and time.

MT vs auto is an important distinction. Many people on here have been fine up to 35s without re-gearing but, of course, re-gearing will make you feel like the drive is better. The auto trans handles the bigger tires much better than the MT in stock configuration. I think re-gearing is great and I want to do it myself at some point but terrifying someone into doing it is unnecessary, IMO. 2.0 vs 3.6 is an important distinction as well but that is a different battle. To each his own.

I just gave him info from my experience, he didn’t specify originally what he had for engine and trans.

But i agree, I’d just leave it with the auto and 35s, dont need 8th gear.

Re-gear for 33 or 35? That seems extreme.

In my TJ, I added these tires on 3.73 gears. Never used 5th and could not get over about 65 mph. Re-geared to 4.88 and got all of 5th back. Could cruise highways at 75+ with a lot left if needed.
Different Jeeps. Same gearing comparisons.

Since this thread is similar to what i wanted to ask, I guess I will ask my question here. I have a Sport S unlimited with M/T. If everything I read is right, the M/T comes with the M220 axles in the rear. If I ever want to run 37's on my jeep without getting 44's or 60's would I be able to get away with getting regearing and an RCV axle set? Or would that just be stupid? I live in GA, so as of rn, i am not looking at any crazy rock crawling.
