If by gas you mean 392…you can get a ‘base’ rubicon for $47k (2 door) or $51k (4 door).
Add an automatic transmission and it's $55k. For a base Rubicon.

Yeah the vast majority of Rubicons on the lots here are $60-65k. It's very difficult to find one under $60k. Rubicon X's are all $70k-75k.

No tears my guy, I just think stellantis is facked and there’s some proof to show inflation and price gouging imho and experience.
Capitalism, you either buy it or you don't.
The Tesla forums must be fun.

Capitalism is the name for the socioeconomic system in place in the US, it is not the name for Jeeps being so much more overpriced than other vehicles.

If you actually read the thread, you'd already be educated and you wouldn't have posted something so incorrect.

Maybe you can educate me on something - how many IQ points do you get with each vehicle you own? I wasn't aware I was getting smarter with each vehicle purchase...but I see this claim made often: "i've owned X Jeeps so I know more than you!". It's quite intriguing.
Well, well! I can see you drive on the left side of the of the road. Enjoy the spin. And, by you’re theory, that gives you and IQ of what, 3? Sit back and watch what happens. It isn’t going to be what you think.

I'm often occupied, by many things, often at the same time
This is (months) old news now, but wonder why prices are so high? What are the highest costs, employee costs?

"The UAW (United Auto Workers) has reached a historic tentative agreement with Daimler Truck ahead of the contract’s expiration at midnight on Friday, April 26, after mounting a massive campaign and strike threat against the multibillion-dollar manufacturer." uaw.org

"The four-year agreement delivers major economic gains for 7,300 workers, including raises of more than 25%, the end of wage tiers, and the introduction profit-sharing and Cost-of-Living (COLA) for the first time since Daimler workers first organized with the UAW." uaw.org

How do you raise wages 25% and have a product price increase that follows the cost-of-living rate? We all want to make "six-figures", and pay prices based on 3% increases.

My 2021 JLR was $41k. Add 25% and you get over $50k for the same vehicle. My 2022 JLR was also $41k. There was a negligible increase. If I buy a 2024 JLR similarly equipped and I'm looking at $43.5k. So, the price went up 5% in two years, after almost no increase in the year or two prior. I don't think that's more than the cost of living.

ETA: The problem isn't one thing, but then again, it is. It's you. You want to make more money, bigger salary, bigger dividends, 11% a year compounding interest on your 401k. Take a break. Buy what you need, not what you want. Get a chicken for your eggs and bake some soda bread. Ammirite? Or, ask for a 6% step increase and a 4% COLA. Ask for a new wage scale once you're topped out, even though you're not doing more work. Then, bitch about the cost of everything.

ETA part deux: ...and another thing!!! You want at 25 what your parents had at 45. Spend some time eating Top Ramen and soy sauce because you can't afford ground beef and chicken. Buy your groceries at Grocery Outlet, or the Dented, Expired and Canned Food Warehouse. Everyone wants to start and the top and work their way sideways, well, no, you start at the bottom and work your ass off to get to the top. Wanna graduate college debt-free? Well, work during the day so you can go to school at night. Take six years to get a four-year degree. Work harder, not smarter, and get harder. When you make $15/hour, put 10% of it in a 401k or an IRA, and keep doing that when you're making $17, $20, $30, and $50/hour. AND!!! do some pushups and squats because just when you think you've figured it out, your kids are going to be a heavy lift. I think I just popped an artery in my neck.

My jeeps over the years from inflation to straight up gouging

2008 unlimited rubicon 48k
2012 2 door rubicon 50k
2015 unlimited rubicon 55k
2021 unlimited rubicon 72k (diesel)

I believe a 2024 unlimited rubicon gas is 85k now ?!
A decked out 2024 Rubicon X is only in the low 71 -72K range...

The costs are so high because this company blows all their profits on Alfa Romeo R&D lol. /s

Stellantis has factories all over the world. The UAW pay is not bankrupting the company. There's no need to be an asshole to the people who put your Jeep together.

Why shouldn’t we question employee costs? That is a huge part of the pricing problem. I guarantee you Jeeps are priced in accordance with the profitability analytics related to production. This doesn’t make the worker “bad”…just very expensive…more because of recent UAW contract negotiations. Candidly I believe these workers are overpaid and many will eventually be replaced by robotics and better production engineering. Huge pensions and legacy costs are coming home to roost.
