Hey everyone. I have a 2019 Jeep JLU with 245/75/17 Bridgestone tires on stock Moab wheels. It is a daily driver on highway and I want smoother quieter ride. I do not do any off road stuff A/T tires are not needed. Would like to stay same height but wider. Size I have looked at as 285/65/17 but hard to find street tread. any idea
Thanks for any help

You will probably have better luck if you switch to a larger wheel. FWIW: The Sahara comes stock with 18s, maybe someone would trade.

Also, you might want to put your fire-retardant clothing on. This forum can be brutal.

I didn't realize this was an ancient thread before I started doing my research, so I will post my findings anyway.

I would go with a Michelin Defender LTX M/S in 265/70R17. I put a set of these on my truck last fall, and they have proven to be extremely good street tires. This size is wider, but just about as close as you can get to your factory diameter.

But of course you did whatever you were going to do two years ago. Oh well.

I had these on my F-150 for years, good tire. It also did reasonable well when trying to tow a somewhat heavy trailer across wet grass and getting traction to avoid tearing up the grass (in 4wd).

As @omnitonic noted, 265/70R-17 is a solid consideration for what you're looking to do and this size opens the door to a wider selection over the 285/65.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Another viable option is the Continental Terrain Contact if you're primary mission is a quiet high mileage tire for light off road service.

It does amaze me how much size matters when it comes to tires. You might have five to choose from in this size, and 95 to choose from in a slightly different size. It pays to be flexible.

It does, plus the common sizes that offer more options tend to be economical over unique sizes with minimal options.

If you get some 20” wheels, there are lots of options for truck sized tires.
