As we all know, 35s and 37s rarely measure true to size. For example, my Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ 35s are listed at 34.76" in Discount Tire’s specs, but I measured them at closer to 34.25". I’m looking for a “Goldilocks” tire — a well-undersized 37. My 35s are aging out and need replacement.

I want to go from 35s to 37s with minimal opportunity for rubbing. This is for street use only so, in any case, the chance of rubbing is minimal. I have a 2.0" front, 1.5" rear spacer lift in place.

BFGs seem to run the smallest, but are there other brands I should look at in either the A/T or M/T categories?

Is there a grid on here that I've missed?

My Mickey Thompson ATs in 37" are almost a full inch bigger than my buddy's BFG ATs in 37".

Best way to tell what the true size is would be to look for the revolutions per mile. Plug that into this equation:

20,178 ÷ revs per mile = rolling diameter.

From there you can find a tire that isn't too big or too small.

My understanding is that they measure tire diameter unloaded at maximum pressure. If I remember correctly, KO2s have a stupidly high max...something like 80 PSI.

if you want a small 37 the Mickey Thompson baja legend exp is small according to Mickey Thompson....the Baja Boss series tend to run on the larger size of 37's..I know the Toyo ATIII's run on the smaller side as well. don't get too small of tire or you will just want something bigger..my 37's are already looking small...maybe look at a small set of 38's :)..

How "undersized" do you want to go? What other attributes are you looking before, besides just real diameter?

Kenda Klever R/T is one of my favorite big lug tires, ever. Incredible road manners dry or wet, quiet, light, tough, long wearing, very capable offroad. Their 37x12.5 is listed with a real diameter of 36.69".
