Not when it's installed. There is something about the tolerances internal. In saying that, I used #5 with no issues and I've since sold a couple to a forum member who used #3 with zero issues as well.Well it sounds like a position sensor that needs calibration when installed, but Jeep just sends 5 separately calibrated sensors. That’s stupid…send the calibration procedures or use a better higher quality sensor.
Click the link I posted 3 messages above yours for the explanation.Apologies to OP. I had no idea they sent 5 of them and hoped you randomly picked the right one. Hate to be rude but WTF. Why does the dealer send 4 back when customer order includes all 5? If they all work why not sell one for $50. Still confused.
Use a better mfg sensor or better go ARB.Well it sounds like a position sensor that needs calibration when installed, but Jeep just sends 5 separately calibrated sensors. That’s stupid…send the calibration procedures or use a better higher quality sensor.
Getting into the air locker game brings its own set of specific issues.Use a better mfg sensor or better go ARB.
True, but air (I don't think)has the problem like this. I'm sure you know there is always something going to go wrong, but electric problems really suck especially when all you know usually is electric problems cost a bundle to get repaired. At 300 dollars plus for a sensor that should cost at the most 30 dollars. I owned my JK for 13 plus years and never had a locker problem.Getting into the air locker game brings its own set of specific issues.
I broke the locker sending unit on my TJ in under 500 miles. Stupid little box thing mounted to the frame got demolished on the trail and left me stranded without the locker. Dealer said “I was abusing the Jeep” so no warranty. $400 back in 2005. So far the JL is doing pretty good with 8000+miles. No issues.True, but air (I don't think)has the problem like this.
