At what point do you decide you have a lemon? My24 rubicon x had been in the shop 3 x in 23000 miles and is headed there again the csuses have been the o2 sensor which were just replsced. Now the p0058a code has appeared
The last time it was in it was there for 9!days The service manager said that the initial codes indicated that the electric module were getting low readings i had a dead batery while camping with a 12v fridge and had to jump it When i picked itbup finally they hsd not fixed that and when asked about they said the codes had cleared and there was no issue. Now this! Between that the whole looming issue with the rocker and cams i am becoming more paranoid that some thing is about to happen
the thing is i just put a deposit down on new method wheels and nitto 37 tires
So all day long i am thinking all is right with the jeep but….. nope so when does it become a lemon?

It a lot depends on if and when you meet the criteria of the lemon law in your state. If you decided you had enough or not. Make sure you check you state laws they all have different definitions of what is a lemon and how long you have to file. That being you may have to go through arbitration before you can file in court for the lemon.

I just went through this whole process. My 23 jlr has just over 17k miles now at around 10,500 started having electrical issues with whole dahs freaking out, I’ve had the star connector replaced twice and the battery replaced. Once they told me there was no codes and sent me on my way. It’s was In the dealership 7 times in 6 months. Once I picked it up on Friday and it started acting up again on Sunday. The last time it happened I was driving down the highway doing 70 and lost all power including steering. My brother was already uncomfortable being in it but that was the last straw. For me knowing he wasn’t comfortable riding in it and worrying that it would happen out on a trail made me decide to go through arbitration and get my jeep bought back.

mine was in the shop for 45 days....when it was less than 8 months old and had 7500 miles on it for the same thing...they replaced the O2's sensors multiple times and the ecm...finally I am now over 15,400 miles and no issues so far...they came out with a new TSB 18-008-25 to address the problem after I had my issues and I asked if they would do the update as a preemptive strike and they said not unless the CEL came back on. Jeep cares did give me a 6 year 85000 mile $0 deducible max care plan for my troubles...know that I have surpassed 7500 miles since it happened the first time I finally stopped worrying about...knowing there is a new TSB addressing the exact issue makes me less worried too if it happens again..

Considering a car a lemon over
1. An oxygen sensor
2. Self induced dead battery
3. A problem that you haven’t experienced

Is completely ridiculous.
guess again if the battery goes dead there should not have been other failures that are be related
Batteries are gonna die so am supposed to expect that as a battery dies say from simple age i am going to have chase electrical issues?

This means that there is another unresolved issue

All
sensors Twice
New code check engine light every day
Only 23k miles
My old jkur went 125000 before the first check engine light came on
a new 72000 vehicle should not be having these issues
It is going to be back in the shop for ???? Days weeks under warranty
I will still have to rent a vehicle
I want it to be correctly done
On my 2019 i had left camping
Trailer plugged in battery died I did NOT have any other issues
On my 2020 gladiator i had 67000 miles on it when i sold it never saw a check engine light
So no there is something else going here and jeep hasn’t figured it out yet
I waited a year
For this because-of the strike I don’t want it to be a lemon i just ordered new wheels and
Tires

Yes actually I am i have a metal cloak game changer 2.5 inch lift and their black shocks which are pretty pricey 7 k installed
And I have absolutely no idea how this process would work
And I’m totally bummed out because I just pulled the trigger on new wheels and tires which is gonna piss my wife off to the moon, but I don’t wanna put any of that on there if this is gonna be a continuing saga

Meh, shmaybe....

Fix the big battery, sounds like its old?

If your jeep was in their shop over 30 calendar days, you have options. But, like wilk above, be sure it's stuff they really can't figure out, try another dealer.

My long story, mine sat on local dealer 10 minutes away and no longer use for 93 days. It needed some paint fixed, the etorque looked at, glass they broke, nothing serious, but in 90 days they did.... nothing. I wanted nothing more of that POS caused by.... the dealer, plane and simple. I lawyered up, 4 months later they paid me to go away, never come back but keep the jeep as is. The week before I got the check, the rear end (4.88) grenaded. That jeep was hexed, built middle of the jeep strike, as in dead center... My new best dealer ever, 100 miles away, fixed it in a week. Next day I got my check, I was at the dealer, traded it in, and have been trouble free and happy for 11 months.

True lemon law buybacks will take you a year or more to fight, and my lawyer said they fight everyone (yet lose), and yes, you have to return it to showroom equipment, buying 37" keep those stockers.

Best option if you really are pissed with that much added stuff, sick a lawyer, no fee, let them claw some money out of stelantis, you keep that jeep.

While I agree, OP, that you shouldn't be experiencing so many issues with so new a vehicle, I don't think it rises to the level of a "lemon" with what you've listed. The dealer is still fixing problems, slow though they might be. Comparing this Jeep with your previous vehicles really isn't meaningful.

If you're worried about the new wheel/tire purchase I would say put them on, but keep your old wheels and tires if you're able. Then, if you do need to swap them back before turning in your Jeep, you can. The new ones will look just as good on a newer (hopefully less problematic) Jeep if it comes to that.

Hopefully you're not thinking that you'll be compensated for changes that you've done to it. You're not serious, right?

We went through aberration and won no issues but Jeep has been dragging there feet every sense to actually get the vehicle. I had to pay a usage tax on how many miles it has on it. And no I didn’t get reimbursed for anything I did to it. I took everything off that I could and still be functional for my next use. Really the only things I left on was the window tint,Exoshield for the windshield, and headliner.

since I custom ordered my jeep and I’ve never seen another punk’n 2 jlr with tan seats and 4.88 factory gears. It will not be able to be replaced with the same thing and it makes me sad. I loved my jeep but my brother was no longer comfortable driving around in it so it took the decision out of my hands.
Now I plan to buy a jlurd.
