I also chose cloth in my Sahara, I though I wold never buy a new car without leather, I was planning to by Skinz, however after reading several reports of the leather stretching when it gets wet and than having permanent wrinkles and poor fit. I decided to go cloth and try them out as I can always add leather. Frankly I love the cloth after 6 cans of Scotch guard, water rolls right off, spills easily clean.

I purchased the 5-star rated (900 5-star reviews) Rough Country neoprene Seat Covers $159 to go over my cloth , I would even put these over leather if I had it.

Leather. Easier to clean and MUCH easier to clean dog hair off seats. Tan seats don't get as hot during top off season.

Had leather in my BMW and Porsche. Both times I covered them with seat covers. Too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. They look nice if you drive from garage to garage. On my Ram I opted for cloth and am super happy that I did!

All depend on the type and quality of the leather. Certain leather will wear and get shiny, wrinkled and cracked. I had leather in a beautiful Grand Cherokee overland and the bolsters looked terrible in a very short time. A quality cloth seat can be cleaned with a portable carpet shampooer and look brand new again.

I bought some basic seat covers. The leather was an included option, so I didn’t have a choice anyway. I would recommend seat covers immediately for either choice.

For doing outdoors stuff, it’s protection from the sweat, mud, road salt, pine tar, sunscreen lotion and whatever else you might have on yourself, passengers and pets.

I chose cloth. Had leather on my JK and liked it well enough, but cloth is warmer in the winter and I feel like it helps the seat heaters work better.

I can't understand all the guys who cover their leather seats . The whole purpose of leather is to enjoy the cow skin rubbing against your skin and that you can feel it. If you cover it, then how do you enjoy it? Are you saving it for the next guy? And, guys like me who have kids in car seats and booster seats, the kids can't enjoy the leather. So, if you buy this option, just use it and enjoy it. The whole argument of protecting it by covering it is absurd. I got cloth because at this point in my life, it's not worth spending the extra money for something that I would ultimately cover or my passengers could not enjoy. The great thing about Katzkins (and I'm not sponsored by them or anything) is that when I finally reach a point where I can really enjoy and appreciate the leather, I can buy it for the same or less than the OEM option. (And now I have the best of both worlds). BTW, I LOVE leather. And in time, I will have it. Just not now.

I've only had experience with leather in my JLUR that I've own for 4+ years and I love the leather option, it looks and feels great, it's holding up great too, the red stitching is nice, I live in socal where it's 100+ in summer and I've gone topless and doorless with no issues with the leather being too hot, you could always throw a shirt or towel over the seats. I recommend getting the leather option.
