That’s exactly what I said!!! I was willing to pay whatever for it so that I had the full functionality of my brand new Jeep. Had I known this, I would have never bought it with no Sirius XM and the 7”. It was the only V6 with the cold weather group in the immediate area and didn’t think it would be a big deal to swap it out as long as I stayed with the OEM. I’ve had this discussion with a lot of people that are in the same boat. What a shame there isn’t a fix for this.
You can absolutely get Sirius to work. Look for radio ID and call them, they will take your money :)

Does this impact my 2023?

+1 - the new alert is not tied to update. I am still on 39.6, but that alert started coming up every time I drive by our firehouse. Useless and annoying. I hope Tazer develops a way to disable it like they did for TravelLink.
Does anyone know what the new version number is? Mine currently says 21.32.14
I recently installed a new radio head because the OEM head had Canadian firmware in it and couldn't receive updates here in the US. My new head was built in Feb of 2023 and has version 39.7.0. I believe some of the OTA updates are 40.x.x
Where do you find the versioning? I'll admit I didn't dig super hard but I poked around a little after the update and didn't see it.

Yes, I did that. But, I had to change the head unit to one with the Sirius module and install the antenna myself. It was a lot more complicated than what I thought pre-purchase. The 7” I had didn’t have Sirius capability…

A dealership gave me a free Sirius subscription for a Jeep I "owned" for about four days. I did a text chat with Sirius to have it transferred to a different vehicle. They said sure, for $15 or so. I declined. The rep. disappeared for a couple of minutes (a "let me talk to my manager" type thing) then waived the fee, and moved the trial sub. to the other vehicle for free. I've used it maybe an hour total over the three(?) months, but at least I got something from it. ?‍♀

If you have the cabin temp controls for driver & passenger side, hold the left side hot & cold temp buttons and the defrost buttons (all three) at the same time. that puts the radio into dealer mode & you can see all the info.

Hold driver's side temperature up, temperature down and front defrost buttons simultaneously to enter dealer mode.

How? There is no wireless CarPlay in the current JL model radios.
I’m just playing, but that would be amazing! I know the current hardware won’t support it, but it sure would make my decision on whether to get a 24, or keep my 392!

You can buy an adapter on Amazon for about $50 that will make it wireless, been using one on my motorcycle for a year now with no issues....

Oh I know, I have one! It does work great, I just like the big screen. I don’t like the red leather seats though in the 392.

Mine JUST started announcing when I'm approaching railroad tracks. We drive over them everyday and now it announces it about a half mile away. Love to figure out how to turn that off. Must have come with the new update?
