  1. Toyota to Jeep...yes or no?

Unless it's terminal, the Wrangler is probably going to disappoint you there. I recommend renting a Wrangler for a week and making sure you can stand its driving characteristics first. I'd never buy one to use as a daily driver but they are a hell of a lot of fun off road.
  2. Tazer question

As long as they know it's there and to not do any software updates without having you unmarry the tazer, I think you'll be fine. Not having the the SGW connected doesn't interfere with reading/clearing codes via OBDII.
  3. OEM Drain Plug Part Number

I've used Fumoto in the past but decided to put a Valvmax on the Wrangler. It may not be quite as clear an opening as the Fumoto but completely removes any anxiety over the little lever getting flipped open. I'm contemplating completely removing the Valvmax on every 20k oil change to flush any...
  4. Falcon E-adjust Adapt shocks

I have the aDAPT e-adjust shocks and love them. I haven't gotten very deep into the mapping that you can do with the app. It skews quickly into "more technical than I want to deal with" but I appreciate that the option is there. That being said, I never want to go back to having to set my ride...
  5. Tire Pressure monitor (TPMS) fluctuates... promblem?

Having the pressure drop after driving is weird. I have the opposite experience. 1st, I've come to expect that there's significant lag in the TPMS reading on the dash. It doesn't update fast enough to use while airing up. 2nd, driving around heats the air in the tire up causing the pressure...
  6. Some of you just need to sell your Jeeps. You’re not Jeep people.

I'm not a Jeep person. I hate how it rides on pavement. If I had to dd it, it would probably get sold. I held out for nearly a decade on buying a Wrangler because on top of its driving characteristics, assholes like the OP populate all the local Jeep clubs. I don't want to associate with those...
  7. JL Clutch Feel

ACT came out with a replacement spring. I don't particularly mind the pedal throw so I haven't tried it. I'm less a fan of how the clutch feels when it engages and the spring isn't going to help with that. I have it bookmarked just in case though...
  8. Rubicon Steering dampers: Overlanding

I would aim for a through shaft damper, just for the generally neutral steering. A lot of aftermarket options are going to require you to relocate the axle side mount to the tie rod. Not the end of the world but you'd have to also buy the tie rod mount that matches your setup. FWIW, I'm running...
  9. Geometry is all sorts of screwed up.

😮😧 Those don't even appear to have the coil seats installed, to keep them center seated on the axle .....
  10. Geometry is all sorts of screwed up.

This kind of makes sense. Springs designed for a 2 door are going to be softer than springs for a 4 door. You likely never got the lift you were supposed to have when those Rock Jocks were put on. The control arm measurements aren't massively off the mark, but if you pair them with springs that...
  11. Geometry is all sorts of screwed up.

4WP "wheel house" is grabbing a part off the stock shelf and handing it to the customer. I'd rather have circus trained monkeys work on my Jeep. Luckily, Jeep suspension is relatively easy to deal with. As suggested above. Start from scratch. Get the original instructions from Core 4x4 or...
  12. Off-road Towing Insurance?

Your auto insurance is your off pavement insurance. At least in Colorado and Utah, where I've done the majority of my wheeling, the trails you're running are "roads" with forest service or BLM designated route numbers. Insurance covers a breakdown or wreck essentially the same as if it happened...
  13. Heavy dust on wheel

If it's brake dust, it means that brake is doing more work than the other side. Could be that it's sticking, which would probably be a caliper piston issue. The pads could also be misaligned, causing the brake to contact the rotor unevenly. Or it could be that the other side isn't gripping...
  14. 5 tire rotation question?

Rule of thumb is the best tread should go on the rear regardless of fwd, awd, rwd. This is because loosing traction in the rear is the hardest to overcome and often results in a spin. A counterargument is, if one of your rear tires is significantly different in tread than the other rear, it can...
  15. 5 tire rotation question?

I would just pick a pattern and go.
  16. Falcon shoks 3.3 soft vs stiff

You can probably see the trend above. Falcons tend to run stiff. I have the shafts turned to soft and anything above 3 on the dial ends up teeth rattling. The only exception I have is, I'll bump the rears to 4 when I'm towing my offroad trailer.
  17. Disappointing- Viair 450p stealth

I ran a 400H in my Xterra for 6 years without issue. Paying for warranty shipping isn't particularly unusual and that's after they've qualified the repair.
  18. Falcon 3 Shocks - Hard as a brick?

I have the aDapt Falcons (3.5?) with Clayton springs and run them on the 2 setting with the the SP2 on soft. The aDapt will switch between full soft and my running setting on the fly. The only time it feels rough is when I'm going over rough road where the aDapt system can't compensate fast...
  19. Jl water Crossing 🐊

What had my heart beating faster watching that was the velocity of the water, not the depth. But I've also watched a truck get picked up and carried down stream so ...
