You're going to want to explore the Electronics, Electrical, Uconnect, Nav, A/V, CB, Comms, Cameras forum for this.

If you've got a 2018 and haven't updated before, you're probably running a fairly old version of the software that needs to be updated in small increments before you can start installing the latest versions. There was a popular file sharing site account that had a nice library of these, but unfortunately, it no longer exists.

You can still get your hands on the latest downloadable update for the 8.4 unit, version 40.1, in the following post. However, you'll still need to get couple of the previous versions first and I'm afraid I don't know where to find them now.

My screen was replaced today due to delamination, I want to check which connect version it is running on and if needs any update.
how can I check the version number ?
I was told it should already be running on the later version.

Unfortunately, this site is useless now. It hasn't provided any relevant updates for a couple years now.
